Thursday Tale

The Week of May 23 we had 2 days of the most wonderful cool weather.
Mom actually opened the windows for the first time in about 100 years.
Seriously, You all might recall we had new windows installed in October of 2015
Over the years our the lovely humidity made the old windows nearly impossible to open.
Here in NC it is either too hot or too much pollen or too cold and damp  to open windows for whiffs.
In my 14.5 years I can count on 2 paws the  number of times I have been able to sit  fresh
cool breezes. The new windows go up and down easy peasy and I love sitting on my tree stump
(mom calls it that because it isn't an entire cat tree).
I thoroughly enjoyed it!!

I often see birdies from my dining room table.  I actually heard them here and a frog croaking about being my prince and wanted to kiss me!!  I told him Raz was my Prince
and he better hop away quickly before my Raz found out he was tryin' to steal my heart.
I saw a real rabbit run across my yard. Princess Leah I saw all shapes, sizes and colors of buttie pillars. I saw tons of K9's walking their people. and I heard lots of chit chat from the neighbors....I even got to see Kasi, the dog mom walks, lounging in her yard!!
Mom calls this an enrichment activity and promised we would do it again ...in the fall.

Cause now the 3 H's (hot, hazy and humid) of summer are here.

  7. Same Issues here in Central Mississippi, although I think we have had an awesome spring,,, well for this area, I love opening the patio door and letting fresh air in. I live far enough off the main road, that I can let my two kitties out during the day. Enjoy those windows!!! Love the tree stump!! If I ever have to contain my kitties I would love to install a catio at a window. I've seen some amazing ones on the net or Pinterest!! MOWRUFFF from Central MS.

  9. wow what a day you had, so much excitement and sorry you have to wait until next year... you could ask Mom to build a small sized screen porch, one just for you. you could sit on your porch and enjoy all this while mom huddles in the air conditioning... if you need me to draw up plans for a cat sized screen porch, let me know

  17. Oh Madi, are you sure that frog wasn't Raz in disguise hoping for a kiss to turn him into a prince right there with you?

Most of the windows on our first floor ( where we are restricted) are nonopening windows. Just floor to ceiling glass. So we love it if the front and back doors are open - that creates a great breeze.

  18. It's about time she opened that darn window. Look at all you were missing. But we do know you were exaggerating Madi. It was probably 87 years and not 100

  21. Not only bird television....but smell-o-vision as well! We usually have windows and/or door open. SHE doesn't like dog smell much...sheesh! But recently we've had to close everything because it's cold (for HER). SHE's been wearing HER Madi-hug scarf in the mornings. Enjoy that fresh air!

  30. I use to love keeping the door open in the old mobile home before we built our house. Leaving the glass up and feeling the wind and hearing every thing. I've been telling the hubby I want a screen door for the house. He needs to pay attention....
