Flowers,Funnies and Fill ins

With my gal pal Dory's

Today we are featuring what's blooming at Manor Madi
Last October we had 3 new Catawba Crepe Myrtles  planted...
This is their first summer and we are pleased.
Crazy things love hot hot hot weather.

We have a new species of flower blooming too.

Mom wanted to share this adorable true story with you
Date July 20, 2016 6:30ish pm

Yesterday after supper I took Kasi for a walk.  A darling little girl was playing with her dad and sister in her yard.  She said is that a sheep dog.  I said no it is a border collie.  She asked to pet her.  She said where are you going.  I said we are taking a short, slow walk.  She asked, why I said well Kasi is an older dog and she has some arthritis in her back legs so we walk slow. She looked at me very concerned and said "I don't know what 'the ritis' is.  Is it like a broken bone?"  I told her Kasi has sore places in her joints and they hurt some times.  She said Oh!!
As they say, Out of the mouths of babes....

MADI here:  Kasi and I are gonna have to have a heart 2 heart about HOW good she is at taking her meds.  She makes me look bad.  Mom gets a dollop of peanut butter on her finger, puts Kasi's med in the peanut butter.  It is gone in a nano second.  Mom tried that on me once. I licked around the pill.  I say I'm the smart one.

This week's Fill in's

FridaY Friendly Fill-Ins, with Phoebe, she came up with the first 2 and her co-host Annie of McGuffy's Reader came up with the second 2.
Friendly Fill-Ins Week 11
1. I wish I could afford to hire someone to sit in for me (madi) when the flashy beast comes out.
2. Zucchini   IS HARD TO SPELL.
3. One Summertime memory I/Mom recall is the fire department turning on the fire hydrants for us to play in it was the the precursor to today's water parks.

Really, us dogs can never understand why you cats are so precious about taking tablets. It's all food, right?

Paws up from me too regarding the myrtle! ..and Madi, Border Collies are THEEEE ultimate sheepdogs; their entire focus in life is to herd. Doesn't matter what, they'll just herd it!!! My granda and uncle were breeders and trainers of BCs. I grew up watching them work their magic across the fields.... oh look at that, you got me reminiscing....tsk....

That wee lass has clearly got a nursing future ahead of her! Hugs and whiskeries, YAM-aunty xxx

Dr. Zoie has been playing with her vet set, Sis sent me a video. I was so surprised when she picked up the play thermometer and said 2 minutes.

  4. i love the Madi Bloom and that Myrtle is beautiful.. i can tell you that all dogs are not like Kasi. we had 3 dogs that anything we put in peanut butter they slurped it down. Jake is another story. if we put the pill in anything he licks around it, if he accidently gets the pill with the PB he spits it out half way across the kitchen. some pills he loves, his glucosamine treat the Dory told us about he loves. but the glocosmine talbets he can spit 5 feet. we hide them in his dry dog food.

  9. If Crepe Myrtles love heat that would explain why they bloom so late (August) in Southern California! Usually the hottest month, but hard to tell this year!
Beautiful blossoms for their first year. They love all of the rain too! ;)

  11. I thought that was a lilac tree at first but then read it was Cape Myrtle, what a pretty blossom it has.
Madi you are definitely the clever one, our cat Dylan used to be able to detect a microbe of pill in a dish full of cat food ;)

Beautiful Crape Myrtle! Ours are much smaller! We, of course, LOVE the blooming Madi best of all!!!
We love the story about Kasi and the little biped!
Ah, pills! Well, I think we canines are a bit more food-motivated than our feline friends! That could explain it.

  14. Beautiful flowers! We're extra curious about that Blooming Madi-Puff and wonder if that will grow where it isn't so hot. Cool breezes here today!

  15. If Madi likes cheese, Mom should try Easy Cheese that squirts out of the can. It worked well for Ciara when she had to take a lot ofpills at one time. Now Mom just puts a dollop of yogurt in her food bowl with the pill in it.

  19. Those are pretty flowers, Madi. Don't worry about taking your meds, Madi. Dogs aren't as smart as us cats and don't realize there's meds in that peanutbutter.

  20. OMD, those crepe myrtles are just FABulous!!!!! Ma loves those! She would probably kill them thou...☺ Oh poor Kasi, I hopes the meds are workin'! Oh, gurl, I don't fall for the pill in the PB eithers! BOL!!! Though, I do likes the hickory smoked flavored pill pockets sooooo much, that I eats them anyhu! I say, makes your Moms work for it, and gets as many goodies as possible while doin' it! hehehehe
