Monster place mat

I am about to show you a series of photos of crazy Madi.
I wish I could get inside her head to understand what she 'sees' sometimes.
Over the weekend, I was setting the table for supper.  Of course, Madi
is chief Snoopervisor of all things in the house.   I use the same
place mats ALL the time.  For some reason, this time, she was 100%
freaked out by the beige one.  I should have had the camera on video but
you know what they say about hindsight...it is 20/20.

Mom there is something freaky going on with the place mats...

Stand back mom let a professional stalker handle this!!!!

A professional stalker never ever, no never, sniffs anything until she
gives it the touch paw test..cause if it is dangerous the daggers are on auto!!

 Ready set smack down!!!!

What in the world is that speck

Even a professional knows when to walk away!!!

I'm watching you so you better stay right where you are

Round Two approaching from the side
MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM  put down the flashy beast I
need back up

The beige mat was turned over...I think she was seeing the dark sticky spot there where the price tag had been.

Professional Stalker has retreated to the corner to evaluate the situation

Another approach is tried....

She decides to play her famous staring game..who ever blinks first loses

Sometimes it helps to stick your neck out like a goose while letting the body stay put....

NOPE this kitty is not gonna be drawn in even if mom has covered up the offending
mat

I'M GOING BACK TO MY CORNER MAYBE I NEED A 10' POLE TO POKE AT IT

SINCERELY MADI(SON) D FRAIDY CAT

  24. OK I'll admit it - I giggled all the way through the photos even though I know that we ALL do that with something we're not sure of....bushy tail, slow approach like a tiger, careful poke looking for reaction, circle again and again until we are SURE it won't attack us. Then we get bored. Yes we are entertaining - we are CATS!!

    Hugs, Sammy

  28. WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT ???? "SHE" said they were the EXACT Same... Clearly "SHE" is Wrong (what's New ??) THAT mat was UPSIDE DOWN... PINEAPPLE on TOP of a CAKE is NOT the SAME as Pineapple Upside Down Cake... YOU were CORRECT to suspect that Mat... it was NOT the SAME SIDE you are accustomed to. GOOD WORK MADI.
