Thoroughly Poetic Thursday with Angel Sammy
Today's post is brought to you by the letter
C
Catty
def: being subtly or indirectly insulting;
cattiness is often clever or witty.
Last week as we prepped for the arrival of BIL and SISSY
Mom said Madi please do not to be Catty.
I always try to put on my good kitty cappy
But there is something about Sissy
that brings out the hissy kitty in me.
I try to be good but sissy invades my space.
She sits in my chairs even though I give her my best glares.
She doesn't move so I hiss and
SHE HISSES back!
SHE HISSES back!
She moves her stuffs into places that are mine.
I'm here because of Sissy I know that in my mind
She missed a furry critter being here after Toto the mighty mini Dachshund passed.
Sissy begged and pleaded for the first kitty to be brought home.
So that she would not be alone.
To the shelter they went when she was thirteen.
They came home with baby Milky-way, whom I'm told was not catty, or hissy and was always kind.
Truth be told I am a kind kitty, and rarely catty but I do have a bit of diva-tude.
Eventually Sissy and I get over our hissi-ness but never ever do we
get kissy we just agree not to be hissy!!
Side note from mom: Madi's sissy is a huge, huge huge cat/animal lover.
She has tried to make friends with Madi. Never forces herself on Madi.
Anytime she pasess by Madi, Madi hisses. It is embarrassing and a mystery.
Sissy really doesn't get to see the sweet kitty we live with. LOL
Madi doesn't even hiss at repairmen in the house when the come near her!!
We don't have a clue why Madi hisses. Could be that Madi smells Sissy's
kitties Frisco and Mia.

And would like to say a great big thank you to
Fozzimom (aka Ms. macNcheese, Phil and furbabes,
Gracie, Anya and their folks (2), Spencer and River
and Cat Scout Denmaster Karen and Hubby Jeff, Mr. Denmaster
and 'hooligans' (her words), Homer, Reno (the Demonic Duo),
Banzai and Tripper.
Thank you for your Christmas Cards
My human thinks that is why the Critters in the Cottage kitties didn't make friends with her while she and I were staying in one of their apartments - they could smell me on her, even though they didn't see me.
ReplyDeleteMissy Hissy! We may have to start calling Angel that. She does not hiss at people, just her brother, Max
ReplyDeleteYa probably are smellin dem udder kittehs on her.
ReplyDeleteThat is such a shame. And I bet Sissy is such a lovely person as well! Perhaps if you were to try out her lap you will find she is the best petter in the whole wide world?

Love your poem! Maybe 2017 will be your year, Madi and sissy!
ReplyDeleteI went straight go google search with your problem, I have laughted my head off because there are many people asking the same question. why do cats hate one person only.....the answer to most of the question is below... my answer after reading is JUST BECAUSE MOLMOL MOL
ReplyDeleteSometimes cats take a dislike to someone for no particular reason. Can't explain it, can't control it, all you can do is roll your eyes at the weirdness of cats .
Hari OM
ReplyDeleteWell Madi, we can't like EVERYONE in the world I guess; bit hard when it's family though! Hugs and whiskeries, YAM-aunty xxx
oh no wonder that this word has the word cat inside... they are the smartestest animals ever :o) maybe Madi is a little jealous? the WHFT was always jealous when I've got something from my mother... she snitched it immediately and tried to shred it... even money or just a simple pair of socks :o)
ReplyDeleteThat is a mystery. Usually cats can sense true animal lovers. Even the strays that have shown up to eat at our house eventually stop running away and run to me when they see me.
ReplyDeleteIt must be a sibling thing.
Love your "Catty" poem Madi......I bet you are hissy with Sissy because she has "FOREIGN SMELLS" of other kitties on her which you do NOT appreciate...Could it be that or - maybe - you're JEALOUS of the attention she gets when she's there visiting?????????? Hmmmmm???? Inquiring minds want to know!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLove and Lots of Hugs,
Angel Sammy
I think it is for sure the scent of Frisco and Mia that makes you hissy, Madi!
ReplyDeleteWe may never know the answer to the riddle of why you hiss at your sis. It's too bad she never gets to see how sweet you really are.
ReplyDeleteThat it so funny! But at least it's not as bad as a dog named Muffy that mom used to have. Everytime Muffy sat on mom's sisters lap she would pee! Btw Madi, do you often say "Hark"?
ReplyDeleteYour Pals,
Murphy and Stanley
That's a shame, it really is. Maybe Miss M, you are... A tiny, tiny bit.... jealous of Sissy?
ReplyDeleteWhen Maddie (short for Medusa)cat came to live with us for a while, she always hissed at me and Joey dog. If we got too close, she punched us in the nose! Well, she'd punch me in the nose, because Joey dog always went the long way around her. But sometimes she'd sit by my window and we'd both watch birdies together. At least we agreed on one thing!
ReplyDeleteYou are good Ms Madi. We know you are a Diva and very kind no matter what the mom says
ReplyDeleteLily & Edward
You are a silly hissy sissy pretty Madi! Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
ReplyDeleteThat is funny, does she hiss at BIL?Cute poem.
ReplyDeleteOh that is a good question - do you hiss at BIL?? I, Mabel hide from one of the grandpeeps.
ReplyDeleteMom thinks he must give off a weird energy vibe or something (he is 4)

Hey Henry.... Thanks for stopping by to say hi! You are a darling little white pup. Do you have a blog?
DeleteHugs madi
Made, sometimes we channel our inner feline and are catty!
ReplyDeleteSomeone needs to carry 'round treats, so the hissy kitty will stop hissing when there's noms to be had!
ReplyDeleteWE think you are sort of Green with Jellyness where your SISSY is concerned... Just sayin.
ReplyDeleteHow can you not be catty if you're a cat...BOL!
ReplyDeleteMadi, we can't believe you hiss at your sissy. We bet it has something to do with the smells.

ReplyDeleteHi Madi! I love your poem. My kitty-brother Hazuzu has a disability and he cannot hiss, meaow, or purr. In fact, he can't make any sounds. So I think you should hiss away to your heart's content, and then hiss one more time fur Hazuzu.
ReplyDeleteYour Furend,
Louis Dog Armstrong
Maybe hissing is your way of showing Sissy how much you ummm...love her?? Yeah...that's it!!
ReplyDeleteSmileys!
