Our very favorite Harbors in North Carolina are in 

Beaufort and Morehead City.  Here is a collage

of some of mom's favorite photos from both harbors

Our area weather update
10:38 am Sat.
we are expecting 5+ inches of rain.
We are no where near rivers or creeks.
Our neighborhood has underground elec. service
but some of the large cables to transformers for our
elec. grid are not.  Hopefully we will keep power
if we disappear that will be why.

National Smile Day and Sunflowers

Today Dory and Bros invited everybuddy to celebrate SMILES and SUNFLOWERS

I'm Smiling anytime I'm visiting my friends and their blogs because smiling is

about being happy and content.  Did you know it takes less muscles to smile than frown

so turn that frown upside down and 

S M I L E for the flashy beast!

Sunflowers and smiles go together 'cause they are happy flowers

Mom and I send lots of prayers and purrs to all our friends in Florida in the path
of Hurricane Matthew.  We are surely hoping it turns out into the Atlantic Ocean
away from land.

Whisker Wednesday:Taming Tehachapi

I bet that title caught your eye!!

Well here is the rest of the story

Every Wednesday my Dad and his train buddies meet over at 

Mr. Jerry's house to 'run trains'.  Mr. Jerry had a huge basement full of a gorgeous 0 scale model railroad fashioned after the Tehachapi Loop in California.  It is a work in progress most times when the guyz gather it is a fun run.  Every so often they actually work on scenery, update things and most importantly keep it in tip top shape.  Mr. Jerry is a retired electrical engineer so he does a lot of complicated switch stuff.   He is also an avid CB radio operator and he drives a black Suburban. He wanted to put a model of his car in the scenery; however, he could not decide what to use for his CB antenna.  My dad said how about a cat whisker?!? Dad said Madi is always dropping a whisker here and there.   Mr. Jerry said yes indeed that would work.

After a tough negotiation, Dad and I came to an agreement worth one of my whiskers.

A lifetime of tummy rubs, food, shelter and  unconditional L O V E.

You may not realize it BUTT being the Mayorz of Blogville is a lot of work! BUTT we could not do it without the help of a great staff!  However, we still put in a lot of hours!

After working all day in the office we often continue to work at home into the wee hours.

Since our term is coming to a close we have been meeting with prior mayors Madi & Frankie as well as the candy dates Arty and Chris   We have gone over the election rules and all the impawtent stuffs to make sure we have a fair election and smooth transition. 

We have nominated an Election Judge and Poll Verifier.  Then we nominated Alternates to serve in case one of the others cannot pawform their duties.  Then we had to hold Confirmation Hearings with the candy dates to make sure no one had objections with any of the nominees.  It was a lot of work!

So today we are pleased to announce the names of these outstanding citizens as well as provide all citizens with an official copy of the rules and regulations regarding voting for mayor.  So without further ado . . .
