Thoroughly Poetic Thankful Thursday

Thoroughly Poetic Thursday with Angel Sammy

Today's post is brought to you by the letter

(and this is a true story)*

Believe
The year was 1958 it was Christmas Eve
When the old gray mare was just a philly,
her Dad overheard her say she did not BELIEVE!
This he thought this is something quite silly
How had she become so deceived?
She was about to be ten and quite grown up then.
Her dad was a wise man.  He hatched a plan
with the neighbor man.  Together they
would make sure on this Eve the kids believed.
Twas late and all non believers were told to get themselves to bed.
Just as the silly philly was about to drift off into dreamland
there arose such a clatter of bells and Ho Hos she
sprang from her bed to see what was the matter.
She was about to look out the window, when up on the roof
she heard a thump thump thump.
Was it Santa about to land? Yikes she said
I better jump back in bed
It is Christmas Eve and all who now BELIEVED
were RELIEVED!!

Below is a photo of the philly  Christmas Day 1958

*side note from the Silly Philly aka TOGM
That year my older cousin and I, were getting too big for our britches, started talking nonsense around the wee ones in the family.  My Dad and Uncle decided to put the Spirit of Christmas back in our heads.  Back then houses had allies between them. My Dad and my uncle met in the alley with bells and a ladder.
One rang the bells while the other knocked on the roof with work boots.

Needless to say Mom was and still is very Thankful for her Dad and her Uncle
making her believe and to always be thankful
We join Brian's
And we are extremely thankful for each and everyone of you !!
We send you kitty kisses and mom hugs

Tuesday Train Tale

This is what is in the box...note at the arrow...what is says so I guess I won't get
a box for keeps but just for a little while

Dad ordered this train.  They are not mass produced
so he had to wait  87 years for it to be made. OMCs is it heavy and is he a happy camper
He took it over to Mr. Jerry's house.  Mr. Jerry is a retired electrical engineer.
He is programming Dad's train to run on the sound systems he has set up.
Boy would I like to be a fly on the wall when these train brains run their new trains.
Because I know you are interested...I did a wee kitty interview with Dad about the train.
Dad give us a the cliff note version of what this train is all about!!

From the lips of Dad:  It is a model of a Southern Pacific SD9 (early 1950's era).
It is diesel and has a complete sound system built in to reproduce all the sounds of a real
engine including all the bells and whistles.

Below are two of Dad's favorite things toGETher!!

Monday Mews featuring Murphy

Right out of the gate I'd like to thank Ms. Diana aka mom to Oreo for organizing the
Blogville Gift exchange and Phod and Hailey's Lady for the wonderful Christmas card list.

OMCs Madi, representative of F.L.U.F.F and newly appointed Blogville Dispatcher was very excited to learn Mayor Murphy 'drew' my name in the gift exchange.
FYI:  Murphy is a K9, I am a Feline so you know what that means

Murphy had to disguise himself as a Feline so he would be allowed over on the best dark side of the Pet store. Murphy good buddy a big meow of thanks to you for donning disguise just for little old me!!

Murphy evidently found the purrfect purrson in the Feline side of the store to help him.
I'm sure the disguise was what won her over too.

After I got over the shock of the YeoWWW!,  I enjoyed the mices but I will not share my greenies with them.

Short video that mom FINALLY added to YouTube...if you can't see it click here

But an even more handsome K9 with a million dollar smile and a heart the size of
of all the lovely state parks you visit!!

Murphy and Stanley...I know how much you enjoy hearing about the escapades of
the Cat Scouts.  We went to the North Pole Yesterday here are a few photos

Sunday Stuff

OMCs dad bellowed for mom to come running she had to see this.....he told her to sit
by him on the love seat and look to the right!!!
what in the world that glass is on fire...

Lo and Behold it was a reflection on the cabinet glass door.  It is from our fire place on the other side of the room
