Monday Madi Mews

My sweet human sissy calls my peeps every Sunday either via
Facetime or their landline.
YES we still have a landline and yes mom still has a flip fone!
Stop laughing....
Their landline is 11 years old...last week while talking to sis via landline
the crazy thing started beeping battery low, it is supposed to have a 12 hour battery.  Now granted sis and mom can talk the ears of a corn stalk and an Eskimo into buying and air conditioner but they had not been talking very long.
So mom says to Dad it is time we bought a new phone.  Her reasoning was valid it needed replacing
'cause obviously it was OLD.  However, when you see what she came home with you might decide there was another more impawtant reason.

What do you REALLY think mom was thinking when she bought the AT&T new phone?
I purrsonally don't think it had 1 thing to do with the battery!!!!!!
Picture taken on Friday May 12, it was dreary, 55 degrees I was not interested in the photo shot!!

What do you think?

This picture speaks volumes
oh and speaking of volumes it is a wee bit
louder too!!!
It does have a few new functions that will
require some time.  TOGM does have the
time and date set and voice mail set. AND the quiet button is her new favorite feature.  You can press that at night or anytime you don't want to be bothered with answering the phone or hearing annoying voice mail from Telemarketers!!! The phone acts as normal just QUIET(ly).  Also it announces the number calling
and IRONICALLY it was less expensive than the old Panasonic
MOLMOL

In other breaking news...
Evidently my water fountain did something to offend me.
I have used a fresh flow fountain since my first day here at Madi Manor. However, I, Madi(son) D Cat, will no longer use it.  No clue why!! The filter was changed monthly, water was often changed twice a day due to Moi drinking from it with a mouth full of food.
But alas NO More sipping fresh flowing water!
I am currently a card carrying member of BDA
Bowl Drinkers Anonymous.

  1. my staff has the dino-phone too, the mama said to buy a new one needs too much time... and reading instruction sheets... so we still have the old stuff and once we will use drums or fire to send smoke signs... oh wait... no fire for the staff, right?

  2. Gail says why replace old stuff if it is still functions. Can you believe our landline is so old it doesn't need a battery 'cos it is attached to the wall!!! Really, it iso surprising that it actually has buttons not a dial.

PS Gail says - in my defence, I have now owned a smartphone for OVER A YEAR!

  3. We have a landline here too - my human uses it for faxing (which apparently there is still a need for!). And for tax reasons (we have a home office).

Yup. My landline set is still the old attached-to-base kind, complete with curly stretch cable... and I have a flip-fone. I just don't need my communications tools being anywhere too smart. Hugs and whiskeries, YAM-aunty xxx

  5. We just moved into our apt 2.5 months ago and one of the first things mom got was a landline. She will always live in the old fashioned way. It's all she knows! And yes, she has a flip-fone too but she hardly ever uses it.

  8. We have a landline too. It supports our DSL which brings us the internet. That sure looks like a great phone. Wonder why you are drinking out of your fountain Madi??? You all have a great day.

  9. That new phone would make me happy. The Z Cat quit drinking out of her fountain once for a bit because it developed a hum in the motor. We bought a new motor, quiet fountain again and she went back to drinking out of it.
    Good Morning!

  11. MOL at the large button phone. Mom totally understands about that!

We wonder what your water bowl did to offend you? Do you need Raz to teleport over to set it straight????

  12. who knows what a cat will or will not do and tomorrow is another day and fresh flowing water may become your thing again. MOL... our phone is similar and it drives me nuts telling me who is calling.. can't figure how to shut that off.. it is old to and the battery doesn't last as long, but I have 3 handsets in different rooms, and 2 of them work fine.

  13. Your fountain went bad? Hmmm, very odd BUTT we dogs change our minds on things too. Stanley decided he is scared of the sound the recliner makes when the foot part goes up. Weird, huh? Anyway, we have winter coming back here for a few days and mom is gonna have to wrap the garden in plastic for Tuesday - Thursday. Can you send us some warm?

    Your Pals,

    Murphy & Stanley

  14. I still have a landline and a "dumb" cell phone. I keep the landline because quite frankly, I hate to be hunted down via cell phone. I like my privacy!

  18. How does one flip phone? This seems dangerous. But yes that new phone looks awful snazzy! Well your in good company, I am a bowl drinker too. I like dunking food and other "particles" in my water so momma says I have to have my bowl washed and cleaned a lot.

  19. Your old phone looks like a TV clicker, BOL. This woman just got rid of our landline phone and didn't replace it. So your new spaceage phone is pretty cool. Now she will probably talk longer on the phone in order to test it out

  20. MOL! Our Mom and Dad still have their land line from seventeen years ago and they won't give it up, ever! They still don't have a cell phone and swears they might not ever (something about work bosses who live overseas in different time zones calling at all hours during our night time). We don't think they miss not having one, having never had one anyway, but people call them odd because they don't.

  24. BOL - the old peeps here had to get a new landline system too, and Mom says it has really confused the Old Boy - he can't figure out the voicemail no matter how many times Mom shows him:)

Madi, we drink our water from a bowl too. In fact, we have two bowls side by side in an elevated holder. But we always both drink out of the one on the right UNLESS it is empty - then we have no choice but to use the other one.

  27. Oh dear Miss Madi. Is the motor making a noise you don't like? Our Mom is ready to buy Gram and Gramps new landlines because the volume on theirs is going out and two of them sound like you are a million miles away when you call them!

  29. We still have a landline too. We haven't purchased a water fountain for the kitties, because we just don't know if they will use it...ever. They aren't cheap, so we just keep a clean bowl of water out next to the catnip bowl.

  30. We still have a landline and love the new big buttons on your phone. I don't know how to do anything with our new cordless phone other than erase the caller ids. LOL!

  31. MOL! The mom knows exactly what your mom was doing when she got that new phone. The mom says she needs one like that! We wonder why you don't like your fountain anymore. That's really weird.
