Thoroughly Poetic Pictorial Thursday

Today we join Two  SPOILED CAT
Angel Sammy and Teddy for their poetic pictorial poem.

This very gorgeous picture is our prompt for today!!
At first I thought no way, can I write poetry about the day
I saw red rocks and clay

If you know me well, you know I dream in red.
The voice in my dreams said
A trip out west to you will come true one day.
June  20, 2017 I watched
the sunrise over the Colorado River.
It was as red as the rocks
The beauty I witnessed sent a shiver up my spine.

Many gorgeous vistas were on our way as we
traveled the roadways between Colorado and Utah.
All had names but to this day there is no way
I can say.
We saw sheep on red rocks as they frolicked and played
My mind's eye holds each memory of those days.
It was hot but we cared not
We posed and we walked and we enjoyed
each moment without delay.
Yes the vistas and plateaus are really this red.
Never will I forget the awe I felt when my
eyes rested on the vistas in the West.
All photos are straight out of my camera.
