Sweet Sunday Selfies
I receive a magazine for retired NC Teacher and State Employees.
It is called Renew.
I was shocked to see such a delicious recipe in the fall edition for seniors.
Ingredients
recipe said one could use peanut butter in lieu of almond butter.
I like being able to use what I have on hand.
The only ingredient I didn't have was Toll House dark chocolate chips
you don't have to use a cast iron skillet you can use a
9"x9" pan that might be used for brownies
just before it popped it in the oven
I cooked it 30 minutes
The aroma was enough to make Willy Wonka jealous
Cut and serve warm as is or
with a dollop of vanilla Ice Cream...yes please
It is a very sweet recipe...in all senses of the word SWEET.
Sweet as in easy
Sweet as in it makes my teeth hurt....oh so yummy.

ReplyDeleteOh yes, here's to honoring an thanking all veterans for their service, and a special remembrance to dad's youngest brother, God rest his soul. Though that recipe sounds awesome and dad says he can almost smell the finished product from here there's no way mom would allow such goodness anywhere near dad. Sorry dad. Hope y'all are staying warm over there!

Yum, blondies have more fun and those selfies are fun too. We thank our Veterans love love all of our heroes.

ReplyDeleteThat looks delicious! I haven't seen almond butter in the shops but will look out for it. (I don't like peanut butter but love almonds). I am wondering that if I blend ground almonds with ordinary butter if it will be similar enough. It is worth trying if I can't find the proper almond butter on the shelves. I always have chocolate chips and they don't always go in my cooking!

ReplyDeleteI have a skillet chocolate chip cookie recipe like that from America's Test Kitchen that is to die for delicious. We also have it with a dollop of vanilla ice cream with caramel sauce. I love seeing your selfies too.
