Tuesday, May 21, was a most glorious day.
temps at 80, slight breeze....all of which are few and far between...
Top left: I had lunch on the porch under the fan.
Top Right: I love how the sun and leaves work their magic
Here are some sights that I enjoyed from the porch.
Bottom left: I was so chilled with the breeze even the tree rat was entertaining.
Bottom Right: a small bird bath and a 4 part tray with water for the critters great and small.
I used to have a lovely bird bath in another part of the yard. Until the dang crows started using it to wash their road kill, don't even get me started on the horrible smell they left.
Crows can't see or land under the canopy of the tree.

We see such beautiful birds at our feeders - my Mom has terrible luck with the hummingbird feeders though - she gets more wasps than hummers!

you have a perfect view from your porch or house. the photo with the lamppost is what I love to see, dappled sunlight and when the wind is blowing I love how it moves and changes. so peaceful and calming. Big Boy loves it to, since day one he will sit and stare at our side yard when it is doing this and just watch it. we call him the watcher.. sometimes we stand on either side and watch the show with him.
ReplyDeleteno cool air down here. by 9 am it is in mid to high 80 and past 90 at noon and keeps on climbing. last night was 92 at 8 pm
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely photos dear Cecilia. The one with the ceiling fan makes dad think of many of the beach houses down here that he and mom pass whenever they go to the beach. They passed one last weekend that had 7, yes, 7 porch ceiling fans!

ReplyDeleteOh I loved the reference to the sun and leaves patterning. I am enchanted with that always...even here on the carpet in the house when the sun slants in from the west mid afternoon toward early evening. The movement of the leaves on the sunpuddles...soothing. I also love seeing the pools of shadow from the trees reaching across the roads as I drive home long about 6 in the evening. Shadow and sun...like paint strokes. My hummingbirds are my favorites too. I love cooking their nectar for them. It's boiling hot out, so I change it every three days against spoiling..

ReplyDeleteWe didn't know crows did that. Ew! We wish we had a porch so we could sit and watch the sun set in the evening.
ReplyDeleteDidn't know crows washed road kill...or about the canopy of trees. We just think our crows are cats (sorry, Madi) in disguise. They tease us!
