Thoroughly Pictorial Poetic Thursday

Today we join Two  SPOILED CATS
Angel Sammy and Teddy for their poetic pictorial poem.

Here is our photo challenge

Splish Splash (I'm not take a bath in that)
by Cecilia

My home sits smack in the middle of NC.
Just three hours West you can climb Hills
Three hours East you can stick your toes in the Sea.
If it is a thrill you seek,
head west to Bryson City.
A short trip to the top of the mountain,
will take you to NOC
Adventures galore await you there.
You will find so much to do your head will spin.
Once you are ready to descend you have a choice: train or raft
If you are daft, you can ride a raft.
If you have a brain, you can ride a train.
We have done this several times; however,
this gal always rides the rail. No way she
wants to splish splash in the rapids or chance
falling out on her head.
*********************
Side note: the train tracks run parallel to the rapids
you can virtually experience the "fun" as you watch everyone
in the rafts.

  1. Gail once went on a geology field trip in Utah in May which ended in a 'team building' day white water rafting down at Colorado River at Moab. She says it was at times terrifying and exhilarating, but mostly it was cold! Rather her than me. I agree that a train is a much better proposition.
    Toodle pip!

  2. yes, we rather use a train (the orient eggs-press oh yeah!) than a raft ... that mostly ends wet and weird LOL

  3. At one time I would have loved to take the raft, but now it would definitely be the train.

  5. Yeah, even though I love the water that raft wouldn't work. The train sounds lovely!

  8. It would be the train for us too. That floaty thing looks scary.

  9. That sure sounds like a great place to live and what a super poem too. You all have a terrific day.

  10. What a nice place to live! I think we would avoid that floaty thing, though.

  11. The Dad has done that rafting thing many years ago and he says he will stick to the train these days.

  12. Daft to ride a raft...that's what I think! When visiting my cousin in Georgia a few years ago, we could watch rafters go down the river from the main street. That was as close to rafting as I feel that I need to be! LOL!

  14. Even watching the rafting of rapids gives my me palpitations - a train ride to watch them I could definitely handle. We have lots of cool train rides around here too but none of them would allow us to see rapids - rivers yes but no rapids. Great Falls which isn't far from us is "THE" place for rapids in the DC area. SKEERY! GREAT POEMS this week -next week's photo is pretty cool isn't it!!

    Hugs, Pam and Teddy too

  18. So, you're centrally located! Have been on raft rides.....I think the train would be more to my liking now (drier).
