Today we join Two SPOILED CATS
Angel Sammy and Teddy for their poetic pictorial poem.
Here is today's inspiration
ONCE....
way back in time, there were Pioneers...
Men and women...full of grit and gumption
They hitched their faithful horses to packed wagons.
To head west to parts unknown.
Dreams of life full of adventure, big skies and rich land.
Homesteads were claimed, shelter built, crops planted..
Life for these brave men and women hard
what they accomplished was Grand!!
2020 all that remains:
Is Population of One and this
Little House on the
PRAIRIE.

Thankful Thursday
Normally we eat out on Tuesday morning. I am never home for the big event; however,
it was raining in NC so we decided to stay home for breakfast.
I am thankful I was home and I'm thankful for everyone who makes
Tuesday Teaser such fun.
For the 2nd time in my blogging career.......
Being first to comment is almost as hard as guessing who and where the mystery photo was taken
Hey, we're there first here today. Hooray!
ReplyDeleteThe resident of Lost Springs must be a bit lonely (or a hermit).
The only way we'd be first is if my momma stayed up REALLY late, MOL!
ReplyDeleteoh you brought some childhood memories back with mentioning the little house on the prairie... we think nellie olsen should live there... without neighbors she can not cause trouble LOL
ReplyDeleteHari OM
ReplyDelete... and yet the local authorities sprung for a sign for the Lost Springs! Impressive. Your words were spot on. YAM xx
Mom loves her space and privacy but being the only family in the entire town must be pretty lonely and this does remind us of Little House.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on being first commenter... you done good!I enjoyed your poem, good words. Your words really paint a picture. Those men and women were really brave!
ReplyDeleteEspecially in the wintertime, Mom will talk about how she cannot imagine living here without all the modern conveniences. Those pioneers had a tough life.
ReplyDeleteAt least no one bothers that person in the little house. I guess one would stay busy just trying to survive. Hope all of you have a super day.
ReplyDeleteSuch a cut poem but that little house looks lonely to me. Congrats on being a quick one over at Teddy's place. Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
ReplyDeleteLove your poem....that is such a striking photo, isn't it? Just makes the mind wonder about days past.
ReplyDeleteI love both pictures. I hope I can learn to sleep later when I retire. I wake up around 3 to 5 every morning.
ReplyDeleteConcatulations! Good things sometimes happen when our "routines" change! We love your poem for the photo this week too - For all we know this little town was booming at some point in its' "life" and now - down to one - and we have to wonder WHO that one is.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Teddy (and Mom too!)
Whooo hoooo...concatulations on being first commenter with Mom Janet!

We enjoyed your poem. It sure was a tough life back then.
ReplyDeleteLove the poem. Well done.
ReplyDeleteWay to go on being the first commenter. I know Janet loves to play too.
Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday, my friend. Big hug. ♥
GW remembers reading Little House on the Prairie when in grade school. She still loves those stories.
ReplyDeleteWe had a big breakfast today for a change. But it was at 10am. Would you call that brunch? That was to get ready for shoveling all that snow that's falling now.
The folks who chose to tame that wilds of this country were truly amazing people. Trailblazers, one and all.
ReplyDeleteI have so much respect for the early pioneers in our country!
ReplyDeleteKZK
Your Little House story is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteAn early Valentine's wish for you, AND a happy anniversary tomorrow!
Often when I see those deserted houses, I think about the history.
