Final (non) Fiction, Feline and Nature Friday

Thanks Comedy Plus for hosting Feline Friday

Thanks LLB Gang for hosting Nature Friday

This is a non Fiction story that happened in my 'hood yesterday.
Back Ground:  NC public schools are closed due to the C-virus.
York Elementary is the elementary school for the children in our neighborhood.
Elementary teachers in the school system came up with a very touching way to observe social distancing BUT at the same time let their students know how much they love them and miss them.
The teachers decorate their cars, meet at a designated area in the neighborhoods
The decorated cars formed a caravan to ride thru the areas where their students live...
Below is a portion of the parade thru our neighborhood.  Students and their families stood in front of their homes with signs for their teachers.  There were horns honking,
children squealing with delight and several puppies loving this new adventure.
I ran for my camera but I missed the first 2 or 3 cars.  They had streamers and,
balloons. The devotion and love of the teachers gave me a great big Cheshire cat smile

you can also see our red bud in full bloom and our Dogwood is almost completely in bloom

This burgundy van was last in the parade...the word YORK is on the back window

A video starring my grandkitties
Frisco is not clean enough to suit Mia...

  1. What a wonderful, creative gesture by the teachers. And we thoroughly enjoyed seeing how spring is breaking out in your part of the world, the lovely fresh green leaves on the trees and the splashes of pink blossom.
    Cheers, Gail and Bertie.

  11. That was a good idea! Our daughter-in-law is a 4th grade teacher and has been making videos for her class. Hopefully this crazy virus thing will be gone soon.

  18. They did that in a community near we live but the people wouldn't stay in their cars and they clustered in a big group until they were broken up. Some parents don't listen.

  19. Oh my goodness!! The teachers at the elementary school in our neighborhood did the same thing this week. The kids were in their driveways waving as the teachers had signs and messages on their cars. They honked the whole time. LOL! I’m so glad it is happening other places!

  21. That really is a wonderful gesture by the teachers. Here, some of our church choir members have been going around and singing old-time gospel songs outside of member's homes.
