Just a note to many of you who visit Marg's Animals.
I have been very worried about her.
I wrote to Terry at Brian's Home to see if he had heard from Marg.
This is what he said:
Hey Cecilia,
Marg’s internet went down. She lives way out in the boonies and because of the virus they can’t even give an ETA on getting it fixed.

While walking thru our neighborhood last week, we saw a young mom with a stroller on the other side of the street. She had one of the double strollers with an infant in one section and a toddler riding in the front.
We waved at them. The toddler hollered, I'm eating a graham cracker. I hollered back, I like graham crackers with peanut butter. His mom hollered, he does too but they are too messy for a walk. He hollered, when I'm at home I have to eat them over a paper towel.I hollered back, that is a great idea!!
I would be lost right now without the internet right now. Here's hoping Marg gets back on line soon. I did consider holing up in my Torridon cottage, also (in UK terms) in the 'boonies' and with dodgy internet, but I know I'm better off in Aberdeen, surrounded at least by friendly neighbours, even if I can only talk to them at distance over the garden wall or, in more vulnerable cases, from the street with them shouting through open windows! The social distancing business must be very tough on those who are hard of hearing.
ReplyDeleteHave a good week.
Cheers, Gail.
That is bad that they can't give a date on fixing the internet. They are prioritising people here, and as an older person living alone Marg should be high on priority.
ReplyDeleteThank you for giving me a big laugh this morning. I am sure it was unintentional, but referring to the insect you wrote, "I have no idea what kind of incest this is"!
MOL MOL MOL....oh my word I am delighted you got an unintentional chuckle.
DeleteAngel Madi is probably giggling too. I love making folks laugh...
Hugs Cecilia
we had the same thought... and we fear the moment when the internet is overcrowded and the providers have a problem... that probably would bother people more than the curfew...
ReplyDeletehari OM
ReplyDelete...I don't know about the incest. The insect though, would appear to be a cricket or grasshopper...
It is true, the internet is no longer a luxury, but an essential utility for all - but especially for those in remote circumstances and of a certain age! I do hope that gets sorted for Marg. YAM xx
OH my word YAM-Aunty...that was surely a typo thank you. I know Angel Madi is Meowing out loud for sure
DeleteHugs Cecilia
Poor Marge. I loved the conversation between you and the stroller gang☺
ReplyDeleteA lot more people are cruising the internet all day long now.
ReplyDeleteI don't think there will be any problem keeping the craziness coming... I have a lot of it and I have seen that the fun craziness between friends brings the smiles. I don't know what I would do without the sweet friends I interact with on their blogs and through emails daily. I don't know Marge but I hope she gets her internet back very soon. I love it here at your blog Cecilia and appreciate all the people that comment here!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the update on Marg. I have wondered where she was and worried.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice they were able to get out and do some stroller strolling!
ReplyDeletePoor Marg. Thanks for the update!
ReplyDeleteThe Florida Furkids
wow, what an outing, lunch in the car, was it a picnic from home or take out? laughed out loud at the toddler long distance conversation. he is proabley bored also
ReplyDeleteI noticed the sentence under my squirrel pictures was confusing...
DeleteI re arranged it to this
From the passenger seat of the car, I spotted the squirrel who was having lunch.
I knew about Marg's internet being down. I should have said something. We do worry about her and we should. She's a treasure.
ReplyDeleteLove the paper towel idea for the graham crackers done the way he likes.
Awww on the evil squirrel. They are cute.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Big hug, honey. ♥
Conversations on walks are fun these days! Everyone's so desperate to talk. The other day a little girl yelled out "Hi Doggy!" Momma said, "Her name's Matilda!" "My name's Bella! Bye Matilda!" "Bye Bella!"
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun conversation you had with that young family. I'm sure the toddler must be missing seeing people other than his family. At least we are still able to get out for walks.
ReplyDeleteRight now I would be so lost without the internet. I keep hoping that on top of all of the craziness with life (and the pandemic) we don't get hit with bad weather, and then what happens? Jonesboro, AR. I think back on Nashville being hit by another tornado early this month and what are those people doing? I also think ahead and wonder about this virus with hurricane season upcoming. I just keep hoping for the best.
ReplyDeleteI had emailed Terry about Marg too and was relieved it was the internet instead of sickness. That little boy sounds adorable. XO
ReplyDeleteLOL! A social, socially distancing moment!
ReplyDeleteOh my, I am soooo sorry to hear about Marg, how rough that must be!!!
ReplyDeleteI smiled soooo big when you told us about your "conversation"with the adorable boy...I can totally see you talking(or hollering) back and forth!!
The internet is a blessing in these times.
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine life without the internet these days. Hope Marg can get hers fixed soon.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to see your colorful blooming trees (and that picture of Madi) in your header.
Thank you for letting us know about Marg - we too were worried about her.
ReplyDeleteThat was a fun conversation with those little ones. Mom likes her pb on BelVita crackers/cookies. Yummy and crunchy.
Woos, Lightning and Timber
Thanks for letting us know about Marg ! I have stopped getting the email notifications on a couple of blogs, but I saw they had commented so traced back and caught up with them.
ReplyDeleteStay safe and well.
I agree. I need to have people to share with, definitely.
ReplyDeleteWe hope Marg's Internet is back soon. It must be lonely out there.
ReplyDeleteWe do hope Marge is OK.
ReplyDeleteA lizard from our front yard would still be alive if she and Xena had practiced social distancing.
perhaps someone has a spare computer? Or one for rent for cheap? Oh my!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a grasshopper. We hope Marg gets her internets fixed soon and thanks so much for the update. This is a great community we belong to
ReplyDeletePoor Marg. Living in the country is wonderful but the internet is usually spotty at best. It was one of the joys of moving to the suburbs for me back in the late 80's. Our neighbors had a driveway party last Friday. We all sat out in our own driveways and visited long distance. It was nice to have other human contact. LOL!
