(almost) Wordless Wednesday

A few weeks ago, in between Monsoons, we were antsy to get out.
Even on this outing, the skies were gray and the humidity was rising...
The NC Museum of Art is only about 4 miles from home.
Lo and behold we found another trial and some art...outstanding in the fields
Today I share one

here is the marker below this
At first glance it reminds me of Jacks a game I played as a child.

If you aren't as old as dirt, and have no clue what Jacks is,  here is a photo of a set of Jacks
and ball.

  2. If that artwork was in our area, someone would already be using it as makeshift gym equipment!

  11. The photo on the top left looks a bit like that contraption in gymnastics: uneven bars. Mind you, this one would have to be for somebody with some big hands! Really big hands!

  15. I do remember jacks and I bet if kids were able to, they'd be using this piece

  16. That is some very interesting art, and we can't help but notice that it is RED!!!

Mom was a champion ball and jacks player in her younger years (much younger), and she taught the grands how to play too.

  24. Hate to admit it, but I played a lot of Jacks as a kid. And, yes it looks like those cheaper plastic ones that would break instead of the silver metal ones!

  25. Cool sculpture! I was wondering how old my granddaughter needs to be before she can learn to play jacks. It was one of my favorite games as a kid.
