Nature and Feline Friday : Trekking around Shelley Lake

Thanks LLB Gang for Hosting Nature Friday
Thanks Comedy Plus for hosting Feline Friday

On October 6, 2020 Madi 2 took us a few miles down the road
Madi 2 is 100% the same shade of gray as Angel Madi's lush lovely furs.

Madi's gray often looked black  (below photo a prime example.. it was due to My poor photography skills) but she was Gray and White.  Every single morning she greeted us with
her high flying fluffy ? mark kitty tail...just like this. She would always pause for me to hold her
tail as is passed through my hand.

We made some new discoveries on this trek

Could this be the southern portion of the Alaska pipe line?

This lovely trail is smack in the middle of a very busy section of North Raleigh.
Once you get on the trail the peace and tranquility block out any traffic sounds

I am not sure what this is but it is RED so you know I took a photo

There are homes much like this all along the trail too.

As you trek, views of Shelley Lake  are all around you

I love the reflections of nature on the lake

Last week was the first week in several months we have been able to walk outside
every day.  The weather was perfect.  We are very happy to have such a beautiful
trail a few miles from home.  It was a magical week seeing the mist rising off
the lake Monday and the Deer and Fawn on Wednesday.
Keep on Trekking.

  1. we love this place!!! and we are sad for the "wall art" we can find everywhere... hands of fools ruin walls and stools

  2. Gail and I love seeing your local trails - it makes us feel we know that place where you live just a little bit better. We are wondering what you would consider an acceptable temperature range for outdoor walks?
    Toodle pip!
Bertie (shortly off for a walk with Gail and her neighbours Yvonne and Kirsty, current temp. an acceptable 50ºF, light winds).

  3. Shelley Lake is sure pretty and we love that tunnel. Bummer about the graffiti. As mom would say - look with your eyes and keep your hands in your pockets!

I think that is red honeysuckle.

  20. Beautiful place for walking indeed! Not sure what that red flower is but might be trumpet vine all over another shrub. It's pretty and red so whatever it is gets points for RED! Love seeing Angel Madi - such a good friend and lovely lady.

    Hugs, Pam and Teddy too
