One of the many pieces of outdoor art on the Trail at the NC Museum of Art. I've taken many photos of it but never shared...today is your lucky Day!! I have words for it but I won't use them. Art is in the eyes of the beholder... so tell me what do your eyes behold?
I enjoyed all your comments about what you saw in this most unusual
piece of art. It is not a horse....
Now for a photo of the front side and the plaque that goes with it.
feet and toes
Thank you all for you very kind comments, yesterday, on my recent quilting projects.
They were both challenging and that is a good thing.
Hmmm. It's, er, BIG...
ReplyDeleteIt is not the most elegant of monuments!
ReplyDeleteNow we can see that it's human!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like it has elephant skin. Needs some Jergens Ultra Healing moisturizer. It's still fascinating. Thanks for sharing and Good Morning!

ReplyDelete...I wonder about the model...&*> YAM xx
It looks like the back side of a man to me...
ReplyDeleteButt of course that art is unique.
ReplyDeleteThat sure is a unique sculpture. We guessed it looked human but the front doesn't add any details.
ReplyDeletefor me, i am glad he did NOT show details. it sure fits the words collapse, and monutental in size... i would like to meet the person who created it and the ONE that loves it. ha ha

ReplyDeleteThe Florida Furkids
Not a fan. I know lots of work went into this, but it's not something I would want at all. My eyes behold rocks.
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. Big hug. ♥
A fallen but brave human form.....wonderful sculpture.
ReplyDeleteNot at all like Michelangelo's David, but intriguing nonetheless.
ReplyDeleteI still think it is an ugly piece of art. :) XO
ReplyDeleteVery cool!!!!
ReplyDeleteGoogle ate my comment. I think it is interesting and represents how many of us feel. I love statues.
ReplyDeleteWe think that is kind of cool.
ReplyDeleteI remember at least one person commented that those looked like human legs/feet. Isn't it funny the optical illusions that one's mind plays.
ReplyDeleteWell, the point of art is to gets you thinkin', rights? so it sure did accomplish that!
ReplyDeleteStill don't knows if I likes it or not....Ma said I can't climb on it, so pffft! BOL!
Kisses,
Ruby ♥
I guess that's a metaphor of how we're all feeling lately: collapsed! LOL!
ReplyDeleteThat is definitely a different type of sculpture. Did it fall over?
