Nature Friday and Special Event

As promised yesterday, here are photos of a gorgeous sunrise taken last week
My my friend, Janice's Granddaughter, Alayna

For those of you not fortunate enough to live in a city full of Pollen, today
Nature Friday is starring Polly Pollen.
This is just one pine tree.  Raleigh if full of Pine trees.   The pollen pods burst open like confetti
this time of year

I bought 2 new garden flags
The hummingbird flag (on the left) is located in the backyard right in front of the
shaft where I hang the hummingbird feeder.

The cardinal and sunflower flag is in the front.
We have several locations all around the front and back yard
with daffodils.  Earliest ones opened in February
The daffies in the front opened about 10 days ago.

Thankful and Thoroughly Poetic Thursday #15

Today I'm also joining Brian's House for Thankful Thursday.
I'm very very thankful for so many blessings and for so many, many dear friends near and far and their kindness, you all bring joy to me each day.
Today's photos are from my former co-worker at N C. State University, Janice.
They were sent via a very descriptive email.

Hey 😎. We had mulch put down today and just took some pictures - saw my Iris blooming and my Sweet Betsy blooming - thought you might could use them at some point.  My mama always, for as long as I remember, had Iris (multi colored)

She also had a Sweet Betsy or two in her yard.  (I don’t really know the technical name - mine came from rootings from her bush years ago - the little rusty color buds on them smell like Juicy Fruit gum when you hold them in your hand- special memories.

Sweet Betsy
In my wildest dreams I cannot imagine a plant with aroma as sweet as Juicy fruit...but I'd love to smell it.. Tomorrow on Nature Friday I will have two
beautiful sunrises taken by Janice's Granddaughter, Alayna

Today we join Two  SPOILED CATS
Angel Sammy and Teddy for their poetic pictorial poem.

This is today's inspiration

Her face says it all
Will I ask what she sees, No
No tears, means no fears!

Happy Tuesday Trail Tale

I completed the front of my latest project 2 weeks ago.
I'm still debating on whether it will be a wall hanging or a pillow.
Probably a wall hanging but either way I don't have any backing fabric.
I think want navy fabric or maybe an ecru..or a blend.
Not sure when I'll have any either.  Being older than dirt, but thankfully in good health,
I'm being very careful.  Our only outings are to the grocery store
or to walk in our neighborhood or on one the numerous trails around home.
All the top fabric is from several other projects.
When I get back to JoAnn's, I'm going to look for some more Route 66 fabric.
I really like it.

We are continue our morning walks...just in a different location.
Just ~10 minutes from home there is a beautiful City trail around
Shelley Lake.  Thus far we have taken two  of the numerous trails...YES THERE are
PHOTOS which will be posted in no particular order.
Friday, April 3, 2020 we took Ironwood Trail

The lazy creek meanders along often switching sides with the trail

and lo and behold came upon Butterfly ART
Ironically the art is on sewer access stations...
no smell mail here just eye candy

BUSTED

The rest of the story........
I might have mentioned in passing over the years,
Dad and I have OUR morning routine.
IT IS A NO MOM ZONE TOO
Last Saturday we were doing OUR thing when
mom BELLOWED.........MADI WHAT ARE YOU DOING?
I asked Dad if heard anything he said NOPE
I said me neither
THEN I NOTICED THE BATHROOM DOOR WAS CRACKED.....BUSTED
MOM CAUGHT ME
DOING MY PART OF OUR ROUTINE....
WHICH WAS MUNCHING ON THE TP.

I KNOW LOTS OF KITTIES
WHO ADD FIBER TO THEIR DIET BY DOING THIS...IN FACT MILKY-WAY (THE ONE WHO CAME BEFORE ME)
Was a world champion TP eater
However, up until this very day
mom had never seen me partake.  It was mine and Dad's secret...

The screeching was getting on my last nerve
and messing up my digestion
it was time to seek comfort from Dad
the screeching continued followed by
how long has SHE (she being me)
been doing that?
Dad said WHAT?
 MOM SAID
DON'T TELL ME YOU CANNOT SEE
