Art, Symmetry and a Joke

Original of Owl from Friday.  It was in Black and White

I jazzed it up with stain glass from lunapic

The Red arrow is still on the tree trunk pointing to the Owl

Symmetry
Sign:  "Wet Concrete, do not sit on til Monday".
Inquiring minds want to know which Monday!!
We saw this on a Monday...

I thought this was a cute joke and I hope you get a giggle out of it too.
I read it in 'The Return' by Nicholas Sparks
A lady pulls her car into the mechanic's shop, because it is running poorly.
A little while later, the mechanic comes out, she asks him, "What's the story with my car?" The mechanic replies, "Oh just crap in the carburetor." "Oh" she says," how often do I need to do that?"EmojiEmojiEmoji

  1. We have at least one very VOCAL owl in our back woods....he will fly up to the trees on the side of the yard (where our bedroom is!) and act as an alarm clock some mornings. We would prefer he stay in the woods but.....anyway we love seeing and hearing him (most of the time!). Love the joke - it's PERFECT and so is the puzzle!

  2. Hahaha... the joke! We have an owl, too. Probably more than one. I hear him/her but have only seen it once flying through the birdie speedway lane between the Casa and the Preserve. I know what it is up to and I don't like to think about it. There is a hawk sharing the space and I am not happy about him but I know all things need to eat. They are beautiful birds and they add to the birding experience that is our view. Good Morning!

    LOL - was she blonde?

That piccie of the owl leads me to think it is the Screech owl, just by what can made out of the face shape; but no question it is well hidden and the Lunapic just showed how much!!! Nice way to demonstrate the camo. YAM xx

  7. We like that stained glass version of the owl picture. That excerpt from the book is cracking us up. We hope someone eventually takes that tape off the bench.

  8. "A wise old owl, lived in the oak...
The more he saw, the less he spoke...
The less he spoke, the more he heard...
Why can't we all be like that wise old bird?"
Sorry, this poem that my sister taught me when I was a child just jumped into my head!
Something tells me that that sign was written for some specific person or persons, who probably use that bench regularly!

  9. We LOVE the car joke and the Stained glass - fabulishious art (especially the arrow). We have several owls. The big huge barn owl scares the heck out of me in the evening - especially when the cats are out!

  15. While the stained glass is very pretty, the owl has sorta gotten lost in it.
I don't think I would be the first to sit on that bench!
    And, love the joke!!
