Feline and Nature Friday with

Nature Friday host LLB Gang  and Feline Friday  host Comedy Plus

Dearest Auntie HiC!!

The days are getting warmer here in Colorado, and the hummingbirds are plentiful❣️

Hey Mom, can I go outside?

I like to spend time outside, watching and trying to identify the different hummers.

During spring migration, Colorado has 11 different species of hummingbirds!
This is a good article about northern migration in Colorado.

This is a pair of broad-tailed hummers. We’ve also seen black-chinned, and ruby-throated. Mom squeals with delight every time she recognizes a different species.

Mom says she also enjoys watching me watch the hummers, ha! We’re a wild and crazy bunch❣️

Quick, up-close peek of a black-chinned male. He sounds happy❣️

Love from your nephew

OMKs...Auntie is overJOYED with the video and photo of the hummers.  I could never in my wildest dreams imagine seeing that many varieties of hummers.  I do so thank you and Mom for sharing this wonderful sighting.  Sending loads of hugs.

  10. I love watching the hummers feed and fight. We have six large feeders on our patio in the summer months. Every other day we have to fill them as we have so many birds. We love them so. Thanks for sharing yours with us, Kat.

  13. Beautiful!!! We love the hummers. Mom got some red flowers today to see if that will help attract them to our feeder. And of course, they are behind the no-sibe fence.

  16. Hummingbirds are so much fun. We have a feeder in the middle of the garden. The garden has a fence to keep the deer out and it also keeps the cats out! The Hummers divebomb us when the feeder needs refilling. I can't believe how fast they can suck it dry! Love the video, and I bet the cats are enjoying the 11 different varieties! Thanks for you kind words on Nellie's post. I know those two will be having fun.

  17. We haven't seen any hummers here yet but it's not at all unusual for us to see them by our front porch. Mom has lots of red flowers on the porch and they cruise right up to the big pots and are just a few feet away. They are so beautiful (the hummers and the flowers!).

    Hugs, Teddy
