Wordless Wednesday and In Purrsuit of Flavors

Thanks to our

Hostess Sandee at Comedy Plus

A few weeks ago on our Saturday drive about, we saw aluminum pie pans hanging from a tree.

Short answer is they work as deterrent to many critters.

Gigi Google had the answer to our Why would you do that.

Long answer

Motto: feel good recipes

In anticipation of 'In Purrsuit of Flavors', I prepared this recipe about a month ago and REMEMBER to take photos.

It is easy, very refreshing, good for you and  thus it is a feel good recipe no cooking and there is enough for several meals.

Hints: Personally the amount of oil and vinegar was a bit too much.
Start with less, taste and adjust.  I start with about 1/4 of each.
I don't like raw onions normally but I cut these very very small and manage ok.

Onions are optional. You can certainly use other peas besides these.  I think black eyed peas would be quite tasty too.

  1. a jar of happiness ;O) love the recipe... even when I'm also no fan of raw onions. I smash them in a blender ;O)

  2. We have a tree full of shoes in our town, but it is where a lot of young people hang out. The young people are probably enough to deter any critters from coming anyway.

  3. That looks so yummy and easy. I'm not a fan of raw onions either and that's where Mrs Dash's onion seasoning comes in really handy!

  4. June says since her used-to-be-name was "Chowder" she's not so sure about foodz named chowder, but her human says it sounds very good ...
As for the pie-pans, we'd welcome critters, not chase 'em away!

  5. Love black eyed peas. Can't do raw onions anymore... I miss them but the tummy doesn't like them. I am sure it would be just as good without them. I can't imagine pie plates would discourage determined critters. Our critters would probably play with them! Good Morning!

  6. I had to read about the pie tins in the tree. Makes sense now.

I've not heard of this dish at all. I'd like to try it.

Thank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.
