Thankful and Thoroughly Poetic Thursday #50

 Today we join

I am very thankful for crazy unseasonal NC weather.  As we say, if you don't like our weather wait five minutes and it will change.

Sunday, December 26th, we met favorite Sis and BIL of Angel Madi for a picnic at Bill Fay Park.  It was 70 degrees. On May 31, 2021 we met the there too BUT the temperature was 53, rainy and windy.  A good time was had by all.  So good to see them in a safe pretty setting.

 Two SPOILED CATS,

Angel Sammy and Teddy find such inspiring photos for us

Here is today's inspiration

She stands on Hatteras Island in the coastal City of Rodanthe, NC
Her tale is told in ebbs and tides of the Sea.
So grand was she, in 2008 Hollywood made her the star of
For years and years she weather coast storms she stood proud and tall**
The views from all her windows were breathtaking...
Til one day the sand and dunes where she stood
were covered under the Atlantic for good.

**This is the home on Hatteras Island.   I think it is the same home in our  photo inspiration minus the blue awnings.

  3. I am happy to hear you could meet with your daughter and her husband and tht the weather was great. the past 3 days we have been in the 80's and 2 more days of that and a cool front. here we celebrate cool fronts because we heat that is to hot. in the past dec had highs of 70 to 75 now it is 82. the good news is our power bill is down by half as much for the past 2 months, no heat or ac needed. yay. we almost had to turn the ac on yesterday but made it through. that house is so beautiful and now it looks like the water is taking over . its beautiful

  5. We're glad to hear you had such good weather for the get together with your daughter and SIL. It's been unseasonably warm here too and we've had barely any snow. That's a great poem for that picture. What a unique place.

  8. It's just cold here and we haven't seen the sun in days and days. It's okay though because we need the rain.

I love that you found that house. You rock.

Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday, my friend. Big hug. ♥

  9. So pleased to hear you had a safe family gathering in nice warm temperatures!
I am imagining a real estate agent describing that house as "beautiful sea views, no problems with neighbours..."
    Cheers, Gail.

  10. Perfect poem! We read that it is the same house - was moved several hundred feet inland and now has been fixed up and is "rentable" for a hefty fee. Would be worth it if you had maybe four or five couples. Interesting story though.....we posted the link to the information on the blog and several followers found it too. Cool it was in a movie!

    Hugs, Pam

  17. I'm so happy you got to see family for Christmas!!!

A ;lovely poem too! I'm always sad to hear when storms come toward the East Coast. There are so many beautiful houses that get damaged or destroyed.

  18. I've been to the Outer Banks, back when Lexi was with us and in good health to travel. Every day I sat and picked sand burrs from her leg and face hairs. And it does look like you are right on about that house. Too bad it ended up at the bottom of the ocean.
