Awww Monday and Sparks

I had a lovely albeit very cold birthday on Friday, January 7th.

Your birthday wishes gave me many Awww moments.

Now for a little 1949 birthday trivia

1.  I was told my mom went to the hospital two times in December 1948 before I actually decided to be BORN just about on my due date in early January 1949.  My Mom's OB/GYN's name was Dr. Payne...

2. Very thankful my mom was an avid reader (which she passed on to me).  Originally she planned to name me Garnet (which is the birthstone for January).  I was told she saw the name Cecilia in a book she was reading.  St. Cecilia is the patron Saint of musicians.

3.  Being born in 1949 makes me older than dirt.  Diapers back in the dark ages were all cloth.  All had to be washed there were no clothes dryers they had to air dry in the frigid January air.  Evidently by the time she finished hanging all on the clothes line the first ones were a solid sheet of ice.    This tale made me especially thankful for Pampers (disposable diapers) in 1971 when my daughter was born

I googled: January 7, 1949 was the 7th day of the year 1949 in the Gregorian calendar. There were 358 days remaining until the end of the year. The day of the week was FridayJanuary 7, 1949 was the 7th day of the year 1949 in the Gregorian calendar. There were 358 days remaining until the end of the year.  You have been alive for 26,663 days.  Your birth sign is Capricorn with a ruling planet Saturn. There were precisely 904 full moons after you were born up to this day. Your billionth second was on was on September 15, 1980.

→ You’ve slept 8,887 days or 24.35 years.
→ Your next birthday is 364 days away
→ You’ve been alive 876 months
→ You were born in the Year of the Ox
→ You have been alive 639,904 hours
→ You are 38,394,247 minutes old

  1. So pleased you enjoyed a lovely birthday despite being older than dirt! Although the geologist in this household would like to point out that dirt is relatively young, from a geological perspective, and you should start to worry when someone compares your age to that of an Archaean metamorphic rock..

  4. I can attest to frozen diapers, i had two in diapers for a while. I slipped in the world during the war in 1944, so a few years older than you and Annie but close enought to remember the same things. glad your day was special

  10. I loved all of the trivia! My daughter was born in 1976 and I used cloth diapers and hung them out to dry even though Pampers were available.

  12. Cool you were able to mine all this info! I tried my darndest to duplicate what you did but only came up with these facts about my birthdate:
    About October 2, 1942
Day of the Week: Friday, How Long Ago? 79 years, 3 months and 8 days,
Leap Year: No, Generation: Silent Generation, Chinese Zodiac: Horse,

  14. Happy Purrthday ! My middle name is Cecilia, also after St.Cecilia. My mother named me after a song popular during WWII. She never mentioned knowing she was the patron saint of musicians, which is just as well since neither my mother nor I can carry a tune in a bucket or play anything more musical than a record player. (You ought to be old enough to be know what a record player is.)

  18. What fun birthday facts! Xena says you're HOW many minutes old!? (Minutes are much longer periods of time to dogs, you know.) We won't even ask how many minutes by this time next year! Very glad you had a good birthday.
