Wordless Wednesday

My Mind's Eye is drawn to this house each time I pass.
The roof levels, the yellow door, the chimney.
Recently I saw something new. The white arrow in the large photo points to eyes 👀 in the sky. Probably there to keep birds from nesting in the gutters.

  2. That house has a very agreeable look. I'd love to have a peek inside.
As, I've no doubt, would Nosey Nobby!
    Cheers, Gail.

  3. we hope it works.... maybe you can find it out when you visit the house again?

  4. We once had a woodpecker that wouldn't stop pecking at the wood siding outside a bedroom window. Those eyes could have worked well for us?!

  5. That is kind of weird. We haven't ever seen something like that on a house.

I too like this architecture... though the positioning of that item (which looks like a bouy) causes me to question whether it would serve the purpose you suggest. I wonder if it might just be a stray something that will disappear over time...YAM xx

  8. I've heard of hanging the evil eye off homes to keep "evil" from entering, but never to keep critters away.

Love this home & yellow door too.

  9. The eyes are very interesting, makes you wonder. I like this house and the yellow door. If those eyes work on keeping birds from nesting or discouraging them from some other behavior, I would like to try it on a Mourning Dove that is trying to nest on our house.

  10. I bet you're right on those eyes. After all, owls have huge eyes! I, too, would love to tour the inside, especially if it's even half as interesting as the outside. Thanks for sharing!

  11. Another interesting house in your neighborhood. We too are curious about what the purpose of that thing hanging on the house is for.

    2. Scare....BOL not scar...although a birdied might get a scar from flying away from it.

  13. I don't know ... I get pretty nervous when people watch me, so maybe the eyes work?

  14. DOn;t you wish the owner was outside once in a while so you can give your compliments and....ask questions.

  15. I saw those EYES once, in a tent at a festival and wondered why anyone would buy them. this makes sense, i be they work. LOVE the house, and that yellow story is gorgeous... when I can't stand the pink any more, will paint the shutters bright white and the door yellow.

  20. That's a very nice looking house, it looks like the one Mom and Dad had when they lived in Richmond.

  22. Our siding is made of hardiboard which woodpeckers hate! It would bend their beaks if they tried hard enough. Interesting house and the surroundings are lush with tees and other greenery.

  23. We had starlings nest in the soffit one summer. What a gigantic mess they made! Around the block, there is one family who put out a realistic statue of an owl every summer to keep the birds from nesting nearby and pooping on their fancy cars.
