Thoroughly Poetic Thursday#104

Today is Poetic Thursday hosted by our pals Teddy and Angel Sammy

Here is today's inspiration

In full disclosure, I should tell you I have never slept anywhere but indoors.  Below I list my reasons

I love the great out doors during the day but at nightfall I needed to have a shower and a hot meal

Crowded

Ants

Mosquitoes

Pythons are cousins to SNAKES there was no S here.

Inconvenient

No indoor plumbing

Grumpy would be me from the entire ordeal

  1. Gail is a 'conditional camper', happy in a tent so long as the following conditions are met: No other tents nearby, weather reliably dry and not too cold or windy, few insects or snakes, convenient bushes for nighttime comfort breaks, enough room in the tent to sit up in!

  3. I'm with you on that! I camped when I was a child, and into my 20s too. I'm all in for hiking somewhere scenic all day, but at night I want a comfy bed and all the amenities, thank you! And no bugs!!

  4. My camping days are long gone! Give me a nice comfortable hotel room now.

  5. I was a girl scout YEARS ago but the days of sleeping on the ground outside are long gone.

  6. I have never slept in the great outdoors, in a tent or a sleeping bag, and intend to go to the end of my life never having done
these things. for all the reasons you list and for want of a mattress and pillows inside a house with locks on the doors. all of this is the reason I am glad I was not born in the years of wagon trains and wearing long dresses while walking on praries and sleeping under or in a wagon

  8. We don't do the "poetic Thursday" anymore sadly (can't get on Wordpress blogs), and not sure this is a camp out for fun, or
an unfortunate homeless camp. But unlike most above ~ for me, nothing is better than a night spent outdoors, sleeping beneath the moon and the stars, surrounded by the sounds of nature. A crackling campfire nearby ...

  9. I agree. No camping for me. Now glamping in my horse trailer with the living quarters, I could do that. bed, kitchen and bathroom.

  10. As a kid my parents would take us camping. I would not enjoy it. As an adult I choose not to do that so your list was agreeable by me!!

  11. That's called 'roughing it.'. My Idea Of roughing it is arriving at a hotel without a reservation.

  12. That's a great poem. I camped a little with my scout troupes when I was a girl, but I would need a big RV to spend the night "outdoors" now. BOL!

  13. I'm totally on board with your "No thanks" to camping poem. Back in the late 60s/early 70s I used to go camping with a pile of friends up to the mountains - we'd pack up our camp stuff on our motorcycles and pitch our tents in a little circle. Play cards, eat, laugh........but I did miss "indoor facilities" !!! Nowadays I just want my own comfy bed - no thanks to camping!
