The aurora borealis or Northern Lights captured last night March 23, early morning March 24, 2023. Blue Ridge Parkway outside of Asheville, North Carolina. I had no idea Aurora Borealis were ever visible this far South.
According to our local weather geek, it was caused by a an unpredicted geomagnetic storm . Aurora was seen all over N. America and as far south as North Carolina and Virginia Mountains.!!!

Beautiful! It has been as far south as Devon twice this month. I didn't see it, but have seen them in Arctic Norway.

ReplyDeleteWe always try to see the northern lights, and the recent line-up of planets in the sky. But we seem to almost always have cloudy skies. But we keep trying!
