Feline Friday

Dearest Auntie HiC,
Has it been HOT where you live?
Mom read that the earth recently experienced the HOTTEST temps ever recorded.  https://www.forbes.com/sites/alanohnsman/2023/07/08/current-climate-the-hottest-day-on-earth/?sh=656676755d23

According to the Old Farmer’s Almanac, we’re also in the middle of the Dog Days of summer, which occurs July 3-August 11.
We can attest to the fact that cats don’t like this heat either.
Our favorite spots are on the hardwood floor & the marble slab on old sewing machine stand.
We are wondering how you and our friends are staying cool

"Ooooooooooomy dear sweet nephews‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
What handsome and smart guyz to sleep on marble and hardwood.
Auntie and Uncle are stay cool by becoming cave dwellers!  Mol mol mol
Yep we have all the shades down to keep the sun out.  We are enjoying lots of ginger ale and sherbet floats. Auntie is diving deep into  the inner chambers of her chef brain trying to prepare meals that don’t require too much cooking
I bet our friends will share their staying cool habits

Air hugs to you and your Staff
Lovingly Auntie HiC"

BooBoo da bear came by to say he is hot too.

at the beginning you'll hear what he thinks about the
Georgia HEAT

  1. We have had a few hot and humid days, but then cool, almost cold weather returns and we appreciate that!

  2. I heard that bear's "comments!"

We're having our own heat issues, though not like areas south of the 49th parallel. Still, my central air runs quite a bit, and I have a small desk fan beside me up in the home office. I don't like to cook in any season, though when I do I just use my countertop convection/toaster oven. It's big enough for a small chicken, etc., so definitely all I need. I really can't/won't complain about the heat, because I absolutely CANNOT stand the 5 - 6 months of dismal, grey, cold/freezing, snowy/icy weather we get.

  4. We pull the sun-blocking curtains on the south side of the house in the afternoon to keep the sun out too and ice cream is always welcome in the hot summer months! Booboo is so cute!

  5. the sunny side of the house has sunblocking curtains/shades and they are down 24/7. the rest of the house we open the blinds because i can't stand to be shut inside. we live inside with ac at 75 and only go out when necessary, for Beau to do his business, and when bob cuts grass he does it at 6:30 am before the sun rises high. Beau and I walk at 6:30 am also. Cave dwellers also but with blinds open. Kat and Rocky you look wonderful on your cool stone perch.. you will get cooler in Sept we will not until mid November.

  6. We've had some hot days here too. Thank dog for AC to keep us cool.

  7. It is HOT in Florida! We are hunkered down inside with the AC. We are concerned about the drought. We are tired of them telling us our rainy season will be back every week and then there is no rain. You boys are smart to find the cool surfaces. Auntie and Uncle are lucky... they have a pizza station at their food store! Makes me jealous and hungry for Margarita pizza. They are staying cool buying pizza!

  9. It's been 100+ since we got home..To be fair though, it was in the low to mid 70s in Minnessota.

We agree with the bear though...and hope these dog days go by fast!

  10. Sounded like the bear said Pooh, Seriously. It's hot here too. Just in the 90's but I have a bad feeling about it. Last simmer we had 106 a few times.

  11. We've had some scorchers lately too. The AC has been running nearly non-stop. I can't believe you kitties had a bear in your back yard!!!! Yipes! I hope you kitties stay indoors so you don't become Boo Boo's dinner!

  15. Stay hydrated and stay cool. Winter looks better everyday.

  16. Any nice, cool tile or hard floor is a great place to keep cool. Being a "cave dweller" sounds like a smart thing to do, also.

I would imagine it's both fun and a bit scary to see a bear near your home.

Thank you for joining Feline Friday!
