Poetic Thursday hosted by our pals Teddy and Angel Sammy
Here is today's inspiration
Developers in Raleigh are given *carte blanche
Every home looks the same
No imagination just build
This is Urban Sprawl...Y'all
*complete freedom to act as one wishes or thinks best.
We have developments that look a bit like that on the outskirts of towns in NE Scotland. Except that almost all our houses would have two storeys so you can fit more house ms into less land. (Partly for profit of course, but also I think we are conditioned in this country to believe bedrooms should be upstairs!) I am grateful to live in an old established neighbourhood with less uniformity and more mature trees.

ReplyDeleteFor some, a dream... for others, nightmare! YAM xx
Cookie cutter houses. No thanks. I like living here in the country.
ReplyDeletethey do these boxes because the more alike they are the cheaper they can build and the more people pay, making the developers richer and richer.
ReplyDeleteGlad we don't live there ~ but some must like them ~ sigh.

A very cookie cutter development with too many houses too close together.
ReplyDeleteI guess it sure beats not having a home. And could be they are slightly less expensive than the unique homes away from the development.
ReplyDeleteThey look very boring!
ReplyDeleteI call these ticky-tacky houses...We have a TON of these kinds of neighborhoods here(the house we rented when we first moved here was in a neighborhood like this). Luckily, we moved to an older neighborhood where the houses are not all alike.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Beth
It's the lack of trees that makes me sad. We had beautiful large old Oaks in our neighborhood until Hurricane Ian came crashing through. Most of them gone now, replaced with Shady Lady's. They are beautiful but we will never see them mature in our lifetime and I miss our Oaks. We do have lots of different kinds of palms and for that I am thankful.
ReplyDeleteWe lived in row houses in Baltimore when I was growing up. At least these homes have more room.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. Urban sprawl at its worst.
ReplyDeleteGood job with the photo prompt. XO
ReplyDeleteYep, same here and it's disgusting, crowded and loud!
ReplyDeleteIt's just imagination they lack
ReplyDeleteEverything's the same back in my little town
Suburgatory.
ReplyDeleteIt gives the developers the most dollar for the holler, the most bang for the buck. And people buy the houses, so no incentive to stop.
ReplyDeleteWe dont think we would like to live there as we might have to go up to every door to find our home. Maybe we would have to get Mom and Dad to paint our house in multicolor stripes:)
