As I mentioned in Saturday's post, we visited the NC Art Museum last Wednesday.
First HAPPY we were able to get ahead of the 4 bus loads of Middle School kiddos.
Second Happy their tour began on the out side Art Trail. Click here to see two of our favorite outside trails close to home. Art Trail is our favorite.
Lots of happy things seen in there. We went into the old part of the museum.
Below is the sign my the mirror sculpture. We never saw the middle school kiddos in that area. I hope their chaperones were watching them closely. I know most would have been so tempted to stick their hands in there. All of the holes were big enough for a head too.
The sculpture had a viewing holes for looking inside.

Then I looked inside. It was a ginormous Kaleidoscope
I tried to snap some several different colors
It was really pretty. I will admit that the child in me did wonder what was
was inside. LOL
the last warning was for people like Mark... but I'm afraid he would stick his hands inside anyway... LOL

ReplyDeleteThank you for showing us this. I have a handmade Kaleidoscope that I've had for years. I've always loved them since I was a little kid and Santa Claus brought me one that was a cardboard tube.

ReplyDeletein the first few shots I was thinking, that is not a sculpture, it is a box covered in mirrors. then I saw the inside and that is truly amazing. the bad news is, when you tell me not to do something It makes me want to do it. like do not step on the grass. I wonder how the artist did all that stuff in the inside. good job on missing those kids

ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful inside the sculpture. Great photos. I would have definitely wanted to be in front of the kids! It really looked like you were the only ones there, especially for lunch.

What an intersting sculpture that mirrored one was. We bet lots of those middle school kids got yelled at when they visited that sculpture. BOL!

ReplyDeleteGirl, yer killin me. You have already enchanted me with Raleigh (don't tell Charlotte) and now you show me THIS??? If it just wasn't such a long trip from Charlotte by car. On THAT awful highway where you go 5 mph most of the way!! I'd love to see everything you've shown. Now..I am going to click the trails t the museum you have for us. I want to see which ones you like.

ReplyDeleteOh I've been wanting to go there so it's on my list to take a trip soon. Just reading and seeing the sign and the sculpture I can feel myself wanting to stick my hands in there, right through the computer! Lol! At least a telephoto lens through it? :-)
