Nature and Feline Friday

Nature Friday host LLB Gang   Click here Hostess Miss Mimi

Dearest Auntie HiC

Wednesday, May 1,  We  arrived at our final destination, Priest Gulch Campground, Dolores, Colorado!

We’ve been coming  here for spring hummingbird migration since  2017. Always exciting to see the different types of hummers.

Mom said we experienced 2 seasons on May 1,   When we left NM it was spring.  Just a few hours later when we arrived in Colorado in the winter
Mom heard a ruby-throated hummingbird soon after we got set up by the river. It was very cold our first night (see above), so feeders went up on May 2.

Our very first hummer in Colorado
It is a Broad tail

This is the view out our back window.  I think we’ll be happy here for a few weeks.

Love from your devoted Nephews

and Happy Feline and Nature Friday to all our friends

OMC, Rocky, would you believe that I and The Grey are parked with the back door opening onto a very similar flow of water? Only our Border hills are devoid of trees where I am. And instead of Humming birds, I am watching Swifts! I hope you have a wonderfurs time in Colarado. Hugs and whiskeries, YAM-aunty xxx

  5. We don't do bird feeders but Mom remembers all the hummingbirds at her grandparents house up north when she was a kid, and Gramma used to make that syrup and they had some hummers at home too when she was little.

hummers! I love my ruby throat, but there are so many. What a wonderful trip to make every year!
