Nature and Feline Friday

Nature Friday host LLB Gang   Click here Hostess Miss Mimi

Thank you for hosting!

Dearest Auntie HiC
Look who showed up at our house..

Here is a video Mom prepared while she was here (for 2 nights)

Isn't she just beautiful!!!

Peeps called & notified all the usual facilities, posted on FB, and posted notices on stop signs.

Although she was only 1.5 miles from home, it took 48 hours to reunite her with her owners.
Dolly is a 5 year old Golden Retriever/Great Pyrenees mix, who protects her family’s goats from predators.
Of course, while Dolly was here, the Peeps treated her like royalty!
She especially enjoyed the fans!

Mom brushed her well, & collected enough fur to fill a suet feeder for birds to use in this fall’s nests. Thanks Dolly❣️

Dolly’s family was thrilled to have her home, & her mom replied on FB.

We love a happy ending!

❤️ Kat, Rocky, & Cali Girl

Dearest Nephews Kat, Rocky and Queen Bee Niece Cali,
Auntie HiC was so thankful Dolly found her way to Mt Harland Animal Sanctuary.  She is one smart beautiful girl!! And the lucky birdies who use her golden furs will have a very warm nest.
How very kind of her family to post a thank you for your TLC while she was with you.

Dolly is a goat herder...OMDs for some reason that reminds me of a song from Sound of Music...please ask mom if she knows that song. Kit replied:
One year the music teacher did a grand production of The Sound of Music with the entire school. We practiced those songs for months❣️
The song is The Lonely Goatherder.

  1. We're so pleased that Dolly's adventure had a happy ending. What a beautiful girl! Gail is now humming 'The Lonely Goatherd'. She's sure every single song from 'The Sound of Music' is indelibly imprinted on the brains of her generation. (Obviously 'Climb Every Mountain' is the favourite in the Gail and Nobby household!)

  5. It is mom's worst fear that we would go missing. We have our tags and are chipped but you never know who will find us or what could happen to us if we get to the big road or something. Thank dog this story has a good ending.

  6. I can only imagine the panic that Dolly's parents were going through when they realize she had gone missing. If she would have ended up anywhere else she may never have found her home again.

  11. A most wonderful thing to read this morning! Just sets a happy kinda tone for today. Dolly must have read the notes/memos of other animals that have happened on Rocky and Kat's happy place forever. I am thankful Dolly was reunited with her family!

  22. Dolly is lucky to have you as her temporary guardians. What a lovely dog she seems to be! Of course, to be a goat herder, you must be vigilent so you can let their owners know you got their goat. I just love happy endings.
