Thankful and Thoroughly Poetic Thursday #181

Thankful Thursday hosted by

Dearest Auntie HiC

I went to vet for my last post-spay appointment. Dr. Renee said I look great, and I’m free to mingle. šŸ˜»
The boys and I are getting along a lot better, especially when they’re asleep!!! šŸ˜¹

Here I am telling Mom all about my visit!

šŸ’• Cali Girl

Dearest Niece Cali...OMCs Auntie is so happy to have an update on your surgicals and how well you recovered....
Now sweet darlin' Auntie is prejudiced but OMCs
you are absolutely G O R G E O U S.  Your calico markings are
just breathtaking.  I loved seeing you with your brudders.
Lovingly you devoted auntie

Poetic Thursday hosted by our pals Teddy and Angel Sammy

Here is our challenge for today

This photo reminded me of a saying my Mama used weekly.

Oh, what a tangled web we weave,

when first we practice to deceive.

The title of this article comes from a poem by Sir Walter Scott written in 1808. The full phrase is “Oh, what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive”. It means that when you act dishonestly you are initiating problems, and a domino structure of complications, which will eventually run out of control.

  1. Glad to hear that Cali is doing well. Loved hearing the little meow in the video.
I like that picture of the spider web. The saying is one that I have heard many times.

  2. You are quite the talker, Cali, and we are so happy that you are doing better. Love the quote and your mom was a smart lady, Miss Cecilia!

  3. that saying comes out of my mouth at least a few times a month. I have used it for many years... had no idea where it came from.
Cali is gorgeous and we have her sister on our walk each day, big and gorgeous just like Cali. I fear for her life since she is either an owned outside cat ro feral. don't think she is feral because she is to calm to be. that was some conversation with Mom. I know you wanted out of the crate and I LOVE seeing you on the bed with your brothers..

  5. Cali boys are always better when they're asleep. Otherwise they're just rambunctious. How will I remember that saying about when we deceive.

  18. OH MY Heavens! Those three totally scrumptious glorious warm lumps of sweetness need my mommy to come and love on them and kiss the furs off them. She would disgrace herself trying to get into my tunnel to pop up where they are. Don;t worry. I didn't tell her the coordinates.

  20. How wonderful Cali is now recovered and seems to be getting along with the boys better. I hope they'll all be great friends before long.

One small lie leads to a web of them, and trying to cover your tracks ro remember who heard what, and it does always get found out and cause no end of trouble.

  21. So glad Cali had a clean bill of health from the surgery and yes, she certainly is a beautiful calico. Give it some more time, and hopefully, they'll all be besties!
I am very familiar with that phrase, even the cadence of how it is said out loud. And it's so true.
