  1. Dearest Cecilia,
They indeed hunt with a very loud and shrill voice!

  3. I am afraid that although Mr. Hawk is beautiful to look at, he is not my friend. He takes all our small and not so small birds. We had a friendly blackbird who stayed around our garden for years, but when we came back from a cruise in May we found only a skeleton and feathers.

  4. Awesome photos. That's good advice you gave him. But will he listen?

  5. We're glad that the hawk's lunch plans didn't work out that time but we know he'll try again. Somehow I'm not sure he'll listen to your great advice!

  6. On the other paw, maybe he wanted to be in the limelight?

  7. Angel Madi you are welcoming in October with a fantastically colorful header this morning. We love seeing you sitting on the hay bale. And who wouldn't love to see that Hawk up close and personal. We were lucky enough to have a pair of red-shouldered hawks nest in the property behind us this spring and boy were they all noisy.

  8. Last week one was screeching as a murder of crows was running it off from hunting.

  12. Good capture! He'll learn or he'll starve. Nature often seems cruel, but life feeds on life.

    Happy October 1st! πŸ‚

  13. What a beautiful bird. You're right about announcing his presence. He will learn or he'll be hungry. Well done.

Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. Love and hugs, my friend. ♥

  14. Love, love, love the new header! Despite the heat, the humidity and Hurricane Helene it makes me smile and I can feel October in your header!
I am happy the hawks lunch plans were spoiled. No matter the whole thing about "everyBODY needs to eat" I just can't rationalize or wrap my head around the hawks menu of our beautiful birds. Can't he find a snake?

  15. What a great shot C!! Harlan's son, Harry has been hanging out WAY too much at our fountain lately, hoping for a quick meal he is keeping most of the birds away :-(....I wish he would practice hunting by chasing the silly squirrel family away instead!
    hugs!

  18. That hawk with the piercing squeal must mean he is Hawkeye Pierce!

  19. Nice photos. We see a lot of hawks around here, but we hope they aren't stealing any of the small kitties and pups around. We don't know what kind they are but they like to sit way up high on the light poles.

  20. We have a lot of hawks around here and the squirrels, chipmunks, and other birds make sure when they hear that HAWK-SCREECH they run for cover. They are beautiful birds but even Teddy does not like to hear that sound.

    Hugs, Pam

  21. That sure is a big hawk. How lucky that you got such a close view of him.
