They wrote a sentence with facts about NC things then you had to find it.
I'll be sharing them this month
Today's Nature from NC
NC's official State Frog
In 2013, NC designated the Pine Barrens Tree Frog a bright green but seldom seen species. It mainly lies in the pine forests of Coastal Plains and the Sandhills and is considered one of the most beautiful frogs in the Southeast.
Appearance description from Google.
The Pine Barrens treefrog is a small frog that has toepads to help it climb trees. This species can reach a length of up to 1.5 inches (3.8 centimeters) (Florida Natural Areas Inventory 2001). Pine Barrens treefrogs have a pea-colored body that changes to a dark olive-green color when they are under certain conditions of stress and weather (Means 1992). They also have a brown band that reaches from their nostrils to their legs, a white belly and yellow spots throughout the body (Florida Natural Areas Inventory 2001).

Just for you....yes YOU!!!

Kit and David thank you all very much for the 30th anniversary wishes yesterday.

Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. Ellen from
15andmeowing came up with the first two and my wonderful co-host, Lorianne of
Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two.
1. I can’t wait to have TURKEY and dressing (that is what we call stuffing here in Dixie) and Pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving.
2. Our Christmas tree goes up the weekend after Thanksgiving. We already have the lights on our Camellia by the sidewalk. We did that early because of rain and very chilly weather . All we have to do is plug them in to outlet.
3. I’d like to create and APP for stringing Christmas lights so that when you put up the last string you have the prong end for plugging into receptacle. Every so often we end up with the flat end and OMCs we have to do it again.
4. I prefer to shop EARLY when buying my weekly groceries.
Wow just WOW!
ReplyDeleteThat is amazing frog. We've never seen anything like it.
Happy Nature Friday!
Dearest Cecilia,
ReplyDeleteThat indeed is a beautiful and no wonder—RARE treefrog!
Madi's view was lovely.
Hugs,

ReplyDeleteI, too, am in awe of the lovely frog! Crikey though, festive season is coming at us like a steam train, eh?! YAM xx
That is a lovely and very unusual frog.
ReplyDeletewow a frog what can climb in trees... that is amazing... and we love the window view with diva madison....
ReplyDeleteThat frog is pretty.
ReplyDeleteI like to put my tree up the weekend after Thanksgiving also.
Angel Madie you certainly are showing off some fantastic photos from that year. A beautiful fall you had. I'm like your mommy, as a matter of fact in a few minutes It'll be 7:00 a.m. and I'm heading off to the grocery. In the dark and in the snow. But the snow is not bad so I'm not complaining. Love that green frog but then I love all things nature.
ReplyDeleteWe have turkey and stuffing here too, dressing sounds like it belongs on a salad, LOL! Mom likes to grocery shop in the middle of the week in the middle of the day. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteFroggy went a-courting! Maybe he (and she) didn't do so often enough ... hence the rarity! Nonetheless, an adorable "holiday green tree frog", right?
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty frog! When I lived in LA, we had green tree frogs. They are so cute! My trees are up. They go up when we go back to standard time and it gets dark earlier. The lights make me happy. The stuffing is my favorite part of the Thanksgiving meal!
ReplyDeletethanks for reminding us that you , dear Madi had a window on the world just like Beau and I have... that is one handsome frog, I think it is a PRINCE, but not sure if I would kiss it. the last one is a ditto for me, I hit Walmart at 6 am every Saturday.
ReplyDeletein the past, my mother and them myself put tree up on day after TG but the last few years I have gotten earlier and earlier and put the tiny tree out 5 days ago but got so frustrated putting the lights on, it sits there looking ugly with out anything else on it.
I want an app that decorates. since I can't and don't. if I could afford a decorator, my house would be all beautiful, but the doing of the decor makes me upset... it is not my thing even though I love looking at it.
That's a beautiful frog, gorgeous colour!
ReplyDeleteAngel Madi, that's a lovely fall flashback for you. ❤️
I don't know what I'd want for an app. Maybe something to automatically take down the decorations and put them away. Though that strays into the area of robotic assistance and I'll pass on that. (Seriously, hasn't anyone ever seen the Terminator movies, or any Star Trek episode??!)
What a cute frog and we love the Madi flash back. We share your sentiments about turkey and dressing...we love it!
ReplyDeleteWowzers, that is a pretty frog.
ReplyDeleteWow, a very cool frog! The coloring is so unique!
ReplyDeletexoxo,

I enjoyed the frog and anything about NC is appreciated by me as well, even if I am in TN. :-)
ReplyDeleteThat small tree frog is not only cute but very colorful. We love our frogs with suction cup feeties that hang out in our hurrican shutters. Love Madi sharing the views from your windows. Beautiful views and beautiful Madi!♥ Your #3 Fill-In... brilliant and funny! I don't know what they call dressing in Floriduh but we call stuffing dressing in Missouri. My Mom always made pork sausage and sage dressing with dried white sandwich bread.
ReplyDeleteAlways love seeing Madi❣️ What a beautiful frog! You’re fortunate to have them in NC. I emailed you a distribution map. 😉
ReplyDeleteI've never seen such a bright green frog like that before. So colorful. Happy Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteThose were good fill-in answers. WOW, I've never seen a frog like that, cool!
ReplyDeleteFinally something good to associate the Pina Barons with
ReplyDeleteThat is a very cool-looking frog!!! Nice green color.
ReplyDeleteWe have our outside lights on the trees but the cords aren't out yet due to the mowers still coming weekly. We think Mom is going to finish up this weekend and tell the mowers they are done. Our tree will be standing sometime next week when the BIG kids are here to help bring it up from the basement but it might not get decorated until after all the guests have gone home and life is back to normal:)

Cool frog. Thanks for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. That would be a popular app. XO
ReplyDeleteThe frog is very pretty.
ReplyDeleteShopping early is a smart idea. I used to love when MallMart was open 24 hours, I'd go at 5am Saturday and be home before the husband and children got up.
I really like the flashbacks, thanks for linking up with Feline Friday!
That is one odd frog. Wonderful camouflage. It looks like that green would peel off!
ReplyDeleteAnd I like to shop on-line for almost everything possible whenever possible.
