Happy Tuesday Brunch review

Thank you to our

We thank our Hostess Sandee at

 Comedy Plus

A few  weeks ago, we decided to have brunch at First Watch.  This is a new location.

The first....First Watch in our area is located in the former Boston Market Chicken Cafe.  It is a cozy location.  Easy to talk and relax.  Food is good in all of the Frist Watch locations.

As you can see from this photo, the new First Watch is very industrial looking.  High ceilings, duct work exposed and very x 87 hard to hear.

It was packed so hard to get photos w/o people so I gave them happy faces.

I'm show it to you so you can compared the ceilings at both
The first....First Watch in our area is located in the former Boston Market Chicken Cafe.  It is a cozy location.  Easy to talk and relax.  Food is good in all of the Frist Watch locations.

We both ordered Belgian Waffles, Bryan aka Bacon King, ordered a side of bacon and a giant glass of OJ.

The waffles were delicious, it comes with blueberry jam and warm maple syrup.

First Watch coffee if excellent and you get as much as you can drink

...as the cup says better coffee, better world.

We wanted ours in to go cups...'cause we always take some with us.

Huge windows with lovely views
BOL  in between the two windows there are 3 tractor seats framed.  That was fun

Lots of seating including at the bar, inside and lots of outside seating.
I really liked the light fixtures over the bar.

The below photo is of the kitchen area.
That is Bryan's coat sleeve on the bottom right.  It was chilly in there.  High ceilings make it hard to heat too

We probably won't go back to this location.  Just too loud and too busy and too big.
BUT at least we can get the delicious waffles at the other location.
They also have excellent omelets, scrambled or fired egg entree's with hash browns or grits.

Yeah, that's a bit too barn like for my taste... in fact, I think I would prefer a barn! But at least you were happy with the food! YAM xx

  3. It looks very nice there but the hard to hear thing would make it an unpleasant experience for me. The waffles sure look good.

  4. The ceilings are high so we can understand why it might be cool in there this time of year. The waffles look delicious!

  5. You could get a job doing reviews of restaurants in your area as you enjoy visiting new places all the time :)

  6. I'm like you on the acoustics. When it's too hard to hear yourself think let alone talk to a person one foot away it's not the most Pleasant place to spend time. How are the food sounds yummy and I'm smiling at those square plates with a round waffle.

  8. I'm glad the food was good, but ambiance (and service) counts for a lot too!

  9. I love freshly made waffles and I also love a good omelette. I agree about too much noise. Maybe they want the ceiling to look industrial, but if it was up to me I would have a false ceiling put in. It would keep it warmer too.

  10. I would go for the cozy, our First Watch is very small, but its not new, been there for many years now, we may have a new one, I don't go out to find one. I like the looks of the new one but like you would not like the noise or a lot of people. I LOVE those light fixtures

  11. That waffle does look tasty. Our mom can't stand restaurants that are so loud you have to shout across the table to be heard.

  12. We need to get back to First Watch but we aren't usually out and about the crazy streets until after lunch. Love their frittata and the roast beef and havarti sandwich. We WERE tuned off by the noise. Maybe better to try again after the season.

  19. You are right about the high ceilings, they make all the difference to a place. The food looks wonderful and if my memory serves me correctly, I think we went to one in Fairfax a few years back. We're going to have to check if it's still there. I hope so! Thanks for the reminder :) sending hugs!

    1. I also have to say and I wish I didn't push that publish button so fast, but I loved your photos and also putting the smiley faces on the customers. Great way to keep them anonymous and they did make me smile.

  24. I have to say...I would be sitting next to your husband and having that exact thing! They look like REAL waffles. Not those things they call waffles made with heavy pancake bater. Those are just pancakes with holes. And I got such a kick out of those happy faced diners. Seriously, still laughing! Like the interior too! I'm so struck with Bryan's choice I forgot what yours was! 25. It's good you can go back to the cozier, warmer, better acoustical one. We have one about 15 minutes from home where the hubby meets friends for breakfast once or twice a month. He really likes it. I've never been there.
