Sculptor Leonardo Drew is the next contemporary artist to transform the Museum’s first floor galleries with a new site-specific commission. Known for his large-scale, multi-dimensional installations, Drew **employs organic materials to create topographies that are at once looming in size and stunning in their intricacies. For Number 235, Drew will anchor sculptural pieces that he refers to as “planets” and surround them with hundreds of smaller objects as he works to identify the interconnectedness of them all.

As I mentioned in Saturday's post, we visited the NC Art Museum last Wednesday.
First HAPPY we were able to get ahead of the 4 bus loads of Middle School kiddos.
Second Happy their tour began on the out side Art Trail. Click here to see two of our favorite outside trails close to home. Art Trail is our favorite.
Lots of happy things seen in there. We went into the old part of the museum.
Below is the sign my the mirror sculpture. We never saw the middle school kiddos in that area. I hope their chaperones were watching them closely. I know most would have been so tempted to stick their hands in there. All of the holes were big enough for a head too.
The sculpture had a viewing holes for looking inside.

In mid October, when Harper was adopted from Island Rescue she 6 months old. From day one she was all about meeting and greeting everyone. Frisco's is 8 y.o. now; however, since Harper arrived his inner kitten as emerged. They run and chase and hide. Frisco likes to know where his sisters are is all the time. Mia is normally easy to find. You cannot blink for a nano second or you will miss Hurricane Harper. She loved playing with the zipper string on my coat.
While we were visiting, I kept commenting on Harper's long tail. Her Dad recently measured all 13" of it?!
