Friday we had a Winter Storm Warning for north Georgia.
We received more freezing rain than snow, which is no fun!
We lost power twice, but Dad had the portable generator ready, and the wood stove kept us warm. Mom says it’s time for a full-house generator, like a Generac or Kohler.

Auntie is beginning to think Boo Boo da Bear🐻 is brilliant...Hibernation is beginning to sound good to me.
Lovingly Auntie HiC

ReplyDeleteThat is a very good idea, Kat.

ReplyDeleteWinter is really only getting started, I think... I am expecting the next six to eight weeks to be quite miserable. Hunker down everyone! YAM xx
Ice storms are certainly the worst. It's a good thing the kitties were in the house. And that the stove was lit. Then they don't have to think about it at all do they?. We had a warm up yesterday of 32 by late late evening, but tonight and the next few are going to be down to zero, LOL
ReplyDeleteI dislike snow but it sure is better than ice. Glad you had the wood stove to keep you warm.
ReplyDeleteSnow is wonderful, but freezing rain is good for nothing except accidents. Hope everyone is safe.
ReplyDeletewe have lovely weather right now but I would love to hibernate for a few months and wake up to see if chaos has stopped yet... sorry Kat that you are having ice. so dangerous. My brother has the same as you, he is also in North GA
ReplyDeleteWe agree with the whole house generator. Our parents wish we had one of those here too.
ReplyDeleteWhole house generator is awesome ~ in New England it is a necessity ~ Glad you were cozy and warm ~ hugs,

Ice is no fun and neither is losing your power!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad all is well. Wake me up when it's spring too. I'm with you.
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Love and hugs to Auntie C. ♥
A whole house generator sounds very sensible to me! I'm glad you all stayed warm and all is good. Ice storms were my biggest fear when we lived in Missouri because the power usually did go out and my worry was frozen pipes and then it just goes all domino effect after that.
ReplyDeleteWe agree, wake us up when it's Spring too!

Hello my friends and please tell Dad I vote for the full house generator :) Stay warm, freezing rain is no fun!
ReplyDeleteMom says she is done with winter. She got her snow fix, now take it away along with the ice. We love the snow, but we do miss our walks with Mom.

We had that same storm but we did lose power this time. We have a whole house Generac generator and it's the best investment we ever made. Power goes out and it 10 seconds the generator takes over and all seems good again.
ReplyDeleteA full house generator is nice. I wish my hubby would get ours fixed. XO
ReplyDeletePurple is bad, good luck
ReplyDeleteIf you do get the whole house one, keep the other as a back-up and keep the fuel handy. Grandpa has both and there have been times when he was glad for the back-up.
