Thoroughly Poetic and Thankful Thursday #270

  Today we join

Angel Sammy and brudder Teddy
at Sammy's Poetry Corner

Summer time
and the living is easy
we cool off by
floating the hours away in the shade.
 Summer time
floating makes us queasy
best fix is to dangle your
paws in the water
Be sure to keep your nose in the
Air bubbles in your throat
will cause you lots ot
TROUBLE.

My thankful today is also about water.
Our area has been in a severe drought all year.
On Sunday July 5,  we welcomed a thunder boomer dropping 1" of rain...not much but every drop is precious.  Then Monday, July 6 at 6 pm, had a monster of a storm
Mariah the wind, Matilda the queen of rain Daning and Mother Nature all had a PARtee
leaving 3.5" of rain in 4 hours.  WooHoo.
Tuesday, July 7 the triple M's returned for an encore
We had another 1" of liquid gold
total since Sunday 5.8"  triple WooHoo

  3. First of all that poem is FABULOUS! Second of all we have been hoping and praying for rain for weeks now....they keep it in the forecast but it never gets here. We are DRY as a bone. We remain hopeful but are getting sad for the wildlife and greenery.

  4. The picture reminds me of the dog I had before Gibbs. He loved the pool. If you turned you back on him he would go in all on his own. As soon as one of those rafts would float in close enough he was on it and in his glory.

  5. Glad you are getting some rain that you need down there. We have needed rain too but not at badly as you. So far this summer we have gotten a lot of it and things are really nice and green.

  6. I'm so glad you got the rain that is much needed. I must say it probably would have been a little better if it would have stretched out over three or four days and possibly soaked in a bit deeper. But when you're in a drought you take every drop you can get. I enjoyed the poem and that's a cute photo.

  7. Glad you got the rain. We need a little too, but don't want the kind that does damage.
