Sunday Steeple

St. John Baptist Church
Oberlin Road, Raleigh NC
I could not find much about this church online. This is not actually the church steeple. It stands side of the church;however, I found it very interesting structurally. Down the right side of the brick tower you see a white pole. Between the brick tower and the pole there are several bells that are attached to the tower and the pole. I believe this is a Columbarium

Note: I recently discovered a very interesting blog The Door Hunter.
This blogger takes gorgeous pictures of all the doors in and around Prague, Czech Republic.
At first glance you see beautifully designed doors; however, the descriptions of all the doors is truly amazing. After reading the descriptions, look at the picture again. You'll find you missed many beautiful features on the door. The Door Hunter is also Mom to the kitties
Lautrec and Tiny.

  2. Great picture - that looks a fairly modern steeple although we know nothing about steeples.
Loved the simplicity of that design. So often steeples and building look a bit like wedding cakes with lots of icing. This is simple and somehow solid!
We will check out the other site at some point - sounds interesting.

  15. Hi Madi & Mom.

That really is an interesting structure, I've never seen anything quite like it. Too bad there isn't more information online about the church.

I will make a note to check out Lautrec and Tiny's Mom's other blog.

Hope your week is going well.
