Mom's been R E T I R E D a week

I had no clue that R E T I R E M E N T
meant MOM would be here under my paws all day long! That I would not get a moments rest and oh did I mention all the noise she makes?  Had I known, I would have insisted she continue to bring home the bacon.

Well I've been walking around the house looking for something for her to do.....

to get her out of my furs. I found a big box in the
kitchen. I bellowed politely Meow for Mom to come help me.
The box was full of styrofoam and plastic.......
and lo and behold look what we found in it....
a DeLonghi Espresso machine!!!

Y E S I said to myself just what I need to
keep the Mom out of my furs...she can become a
Barista.
That will keep her busy throughout the morning while I nap.
So just send in your fancy pants coffee order via the blog. I'll see that Mom has it ready pronto.  MOL

P.S.  The nice people Mom worked with for 25 years gave her this thing-a-ma-gig  as a retirement gift!!  She bought some petite little cups and saucers this week.  She and Dad have already enjoyed a delicious cup of espresso.

Thank you to all who have wished me a good retirement and inquired as to how it is going........
IT IS GOING FANTASTICALLY!!!
Mom

  1. 2 venti grande mocha latte cappuccinos, please. One with extra whip and one with 2%. With some of those mini-marshmallow thingies too.

On second thought, I'll just have a water.

    Thank you.

  2. A double vanilla latte with a triple shot, light please. That is a cool looking machine, I'll bet you are having fun with that.

Aw Madi, don't you like having Mom around all the time. Is she keeping you too busy? Do you have time for naps?

Happy Weekend! (oh wait, you are retired so weekends don't really count anymore. :)

  3. The mom would like a vanilla, non-fat latté, please. :-)

We were pretty sure your mom would enjoy her retirement! The mom says most women don't have a problem with that, it's the men whose identities are more tied to their job/career and so often have more of an adjustment!

  5. Retirement is great. Daddy and I are both retired. Blog Mom needs to work for five more years at least and Alpha Mom - whooo - furever. That is a most beautiful gift that your Mom got. The only trouble is that sometimes the coffee those things make give humans a big case of the zoomies. If she starts zooming around the house too much you'll have to limit her access to that.

  10. Well Madi, Mom has lots of experience fighting with an espresso machine, she'd make a great Barista!
I just hope Mom and Dad can sleep at night after a teensy cup of it! Lola is right! Watch out for those "zoomies"! LOL

  13. First the dolphins and now fancy coffee - your mom and my mom must be separated at birth! My mom is addicted to fancy coffee so much so that papa has put her on a weekly fancy coffee budget! She likes mochas and cocoa cappuccino - both made with non fat milk. This allows her to pretend they really aren't bad for her. The funny thing is she doesn't like regular coffee (believe me, papa has tried to get her to drink plain old coffee). She only likes coffee that is loaded with lots of chocolate and milk! BOL!
