Thursday Theme Song: by the Lovin' Spoonful

We thank Hootin Anni for creating and sponsoring

Mom and I have a good time finding songs and lyrics each week.  This past week Mom watched a PBS
program about pop songs of the 50's and 60's which was followed by a John Sebastian special.
Mom was elated to remember the Lovin' Spoonful songs of her youth. She had forgotten about today's song
Nashville Cats
until she watched the PBS special.  We'll start out today's post with a collage of Mom's favorite Cat, moi!!
**************
Nashville Cats: playin' clean as country water
Nashville Cats: playin' wild as mountain dew
Nashville Cats: been playin' sinc they's babies
Nashville Cats: It worked before there too

Well theres 1352 guitar pickers in Nashville
And they can pick more notes than the number of ants on a Tennessee anthill
Yeah, there's 1352 guitar cases in Nashville
And any one that unpacks a guitar can play twice as better than I will

Yes, I was just 13, you might say I was a musical proverbial knee-high
When I heard a couple new sounding tunes on the tubes and they blasted me sky high
And the record man said every one is a Yellow Sun record from Nashville
And up North here ain't nobody buys them and I said, BUT I WILL
AND IT WAS.......
Well, there's 16,821 mothers from Nashville
All their friends play music, and they ain't uptight if one of the kids will
Because it's custom made for any mother's son to be a guitar picker in Nashville
And I sure am glad I got a chance to say a word about the musice and the mothers from Nashville.
We hope you enjoy the below video of this song and lots of cute kitties.
Thanks for stopping by to say hi today!!
