Thursday Theme Song: Benny Goodman

We thank our hostess Hootin Anni for sponsoring this fun MeMe

Last week we featured an an instrumental, Strangers on the Shore, a clarinet instrumental by Mr. Acker Bilk.  Lo and behold is was well received.  Our friend, Declan, the Greyhound, told us that
his Grandpa's all time favorite clarinet instrumental was Let's Dance by Benny Goodman Band. When we went over to visit Deccy on May 31, we found out it was Deccy's 5th Barkday.  Deccy never met his Grandpa but his Mum told him Grandpa would have loved Deccy very much.
Today's Thursday Theme song is a belated Barkday wish
To Deccy and in memory of his Grandpa

Let's Dance

Deccy....

If I stand on my tippy toes and stretch my arms up really high (he is really tall), I bet I will be able to hold your paw so we  can shake a leg to this hopping tune.

Please click on the video below to hear Mr. Goodman

Deccy if my best efforts to reach you fail, never fear
I'll climb up on the tippy top of my cat tree.  From way up here
I can look into your Greyhound peepers.

My crazy mom got so excited about featuring
Let's Dance she decided to make a rare appearance on the blog.
This picture was taken 1963 at her 14th Barkday.  She was dancing the TWIST.

Thanks everyone for stopping by to celebrate TTS tribute to
Music and Dancing

He LOVED the American Big Bands. She's played this three times already! Meanwhile, my beautiful kitty friend, shall we dance....?! Deccy x

  21. Oh, how wonderful. Benny Goodman is the first clarinetist I remember hearing, the same with Glenn Miller's trombone, or Louis Armstrong's trumpet.
I remember dancing the Twist in the 60s, also. But, Madi, tell your mom I'm a couple of years older than she is, though not much.

  30. Madi I can't decide if that picture of you standing stretched up on your tiptoes is my favourite or the one from a few weeks ago of you jumping off the kitchen counter with frog legs...I guess they both are :-) Nice to see your mum's cameo appearance on the blog today!
