Not Easy Sunday: PESTS AND PLATES

Happy Sunday..but it is not an Easy Sunday.
I'm sitting here 'cause I hear Mom and Dad using HBO words about
getting rid of destructive pest.  I don't think I'm including in that but I've decided to fly under the radar.  Recently a Red Headed Woodpecker started rat a tat tatting on our aluminum gutters...
not pictures...'cause he flies way every time Dad runs out of the house cussing him and shaking his fists

AND
Below is a picture of what the carpenter bees are doing to our
newly painted house.  Yep those pest are drilling holes in the wood under the roof.
Once they drill the hole they drill sideways too. It is up high where the peeps cannot reach.
There is also a hole up at the very top peak of the eave.
Whenever they see them they squirt them with water.
If we still have a roof by fall we'll have the wood replaced with  something they cannot drill through.

  1. We have cedar siding on our house and sometimes the downy woodpeckers think they can drill holes in our house too. They usually start early in the morning before we have even gotten out of bed so one of us has to jump out of bed open the window and make noise to scare them off. What pests!

  9. i know you were shivering in FEAR when the started talking about getting rid of PESTS. MOL BOL ROFL... my friend had a woodpecker that put two big holes in the roof of his house. ours put a hole in my plant hanger. they can be true pest that do damage. my friend bought a big OWL from a garden shop and put it up there and the wood pecker went away, i saw a blogger that did the same thing with the fake owl. OR you could catch a real owl and tie him to your roof. carpenter bees, i have no clue, but maybe they will be afraid of the owl tooooo

We have those same bees but they are out in the barn so they are all right so just send yours over here.
Love the plates. I saw one the other day at WalMart and forgot to write it down. Take care.

  15. Don't they know to just let YOU out, and you'll take care of that silly birdie?

  16. The carpenter bees are the attracting the woodpecker. We recently had them and an exterminator quickly got rid of them. He had to use a VERY long ladder.

  20. Okay Madi, let's have a talk about your bird and bees.... BOL
Sorry, that's so not funny. I'm pretty sure a woodpecker would cause my asst. to lose what few marbles she has left.

  21. Oh, Madi, that woodpecker has to go - so annoying and just imagine all the dents he is making. And carpenter bees, we hear they are really damaging. Hope you can get them out of there soon.

If we could get a vanity plate, we would modify that one and have GOWOOSPACK:)

Our mom had carpenter ants in the house a long time ago and she had to call an exterminator! We hope your peeps can get them to go someplace else.
