BACK TO SCHOOL BASH: NAPPING 101

GOOD MORNING Class
I want to take this opportunity to thank Sarge, from 
for making this personalized backpack for me.

Today will be slam packed with helpful demonstrations.
I can tell by the rowdy crowd most of you are clueless about class so here is a reminder

EVERYONE PLEASE STAND, PUT YOUR RIGHT PAW OVER YOUR HEART AS WE PLEDGE THE UNITED STATES FLAG!!  
If you are from another Country, we thank you for standing.

NAPPING 101: SYLLABUS
This course will offer insight into the science of napping,
the environment needed to produce the best nap,
and different napping techniques and how to best
keep interlopers from disturbing your naps.
Course outline
1. How to avoid interruptions 
2. Sleeping environment
LUNCH BREAK
Raffle for 2 books and a scarf going on all day
at Mona and Weenies
3. Sleeping positions
4. Proper Stretching 

There will be roll call before each section.
When you hear your name please meow, bark, squeak,
bray or squawk to let me know you are here.

NAPPING 101 WORKSHOP

1. How to avoid interruptions
Student pawticipation:
All the kitties at Squirrel Queen's House
Kitties remember you are on Squirrel Patrol
Finn (K9)
It isn't time to go to the park yet

Please take your glasses off the top of your head.
Bronson and Pepper (K9)
No you may not wear Cherry's on your head

I know you are a Chef but this is not cooking 1010
Jasmine and Simba (Feline)
I know you love the garden but no garden gloves in class
Brulee and Truffle (Feline)
Ladies no sweets allowed in class
Einstein and Darwin (Guinea Pigs)
Please get your piggy noses off the blackboard

a. Sleep with one eye open
b. Never make eye contact But be sure your lasers are on high beam for night vision

c. Scream, kick and pitch a hissy fit whenever you are bothered 

d.  AND if all of the above fails......
LEAVE

Excuse me, Missy...If you roll those Doxie eyes at me one more time you will STAY after class, writing "I will not roll
my eyes", 1000 times.

a.  Be sure your furs are just the right temperature
not too hot, not too cold

b. BUT avoid bright colors.  They are loud and will give you nightmares.

c. Always keep a night light turned on... just in case you need a
midnight snack or you need to p.p.

 e.  If you have a roommate, give them a full set of house rules!

 f. If they come in after curfew, take their paws away from them!!


LUNCH BREAK: 

Please be back in your seat  promptly at 1:15

Please exit the room to the rear in an orderly fashion

Cover yourselves no whitey tightys  allowed in class
a.  REM sleep occurs if, and only if, your bed is the correct size!
 b.  Once you find a comfy bed cover you eyes so nothing distracts you.

 c..  Sun puddles make the absolute BEST places to sleep.
If your house is like mine, there are a variety of sun puddles

 d.  Paws down the very BEST place to sleep is close to Mom.
I feel very safe and relaxed

4. Proper Stretching

Take a chill pill...I know you aren't really as rowdy as you appear

If you sit very still in class, you may go for a walk at recess
a.  After a good nap it is important to stretch and yawn
(it saves energy to do them at the same time)
 b. Keep your eyes shut until you have properly stretched your legs
c. Once the juices are pumping raise your tush up in the air
to stretch your back then open your eyes
 d.  Last but not least stand up and reach for the stars!!

  13. May I add a comment, Miss Mad (raising paw)? I find another trick is to pretend to be hard of hearing. Let the humans say your name over and over and just ignore them and keep napping. Works every time.

  17. WEll that sure was such a good class. We sure are glad that Smoke and Joe didn't try the napping while we were sitting on them. They are pretty darn comfy. Madi, your Mom has been so very busy. Our Mom had to change her undies, she laughed so hard. Well done.

  21. OMD Miss Madi Ernie and I are gonna try EVERY ONE of these techniques. BUTT furst I gotta take Ernie out to RECESS. He is really excited about THAT beclaws he has NEVER had recess before.
    THIS was a WONDERFUL Class. We learned soooooo much. Isn't Classroom Management a Pain Under the Tail? Young'uns today ... have NO Respect. Sorry about wearing our tighty whities to class. I was afraid Ernie would get excited and DRIBBLE.

  28. We are all so happy we made it to class, Madi. Today's lesson was just pawesome. We have been practicing our napping skills for many years now but there is always more to learn every day. In fact, we are hoping you can hold class very often because we NEVER get lunch at our home, but we truly loved having the lunch break with all our fellow classmates.
