LET ME JUST SAY MOM HAS HAD A BEAR OF A TIME WITH OUR BLOG THURSDAY. She got lots of message about Blogger not being supported by our browser told us to change to Google Chrome which we did and now we have the upgraded blogger interface which is 200% different from what we were used to.  After all of that she finally got on our blog and can read comments.  The only problem is she isn't sure how she got here. MOL.  At one point she thought this would be the end of blogging.  Mom is not at  all technical.
SO, here is hoping everything is hunky-dory but we have to learn all the new ins and outs of the blogger upgraded interface.

Thursday Theme Song: Kodachrome....

By Paul Simon

Mom and I thank Hootin Anni for sponsoring

Mom has been a shutter bug most of her life.   When she heard Kodachrome on the Oldies Station the other day, a flash bulb went off in her brain that this would be a great song for today.  Above each picture she'll tell you a little bit about each picture.
We have a video of Kodachrome at the end.

When I think back on all
the crap I learned in high school
It's a wonder I can think at all
And  though my lack of education
Hasn't hurt me none
I can read the writing on the wall

Picture of Photography club from Mom's high school annual

Chorus:
 Kodachrome
They give us those nice bright colors
They give us the greens of summers
Makes you think all the world's a sunny day

This Kodak Brownie was Mom's very first camera.  She got it when she was about 10.
Yep she still has it and it is in good shape!!
Many of you may not remember the Brownie but was a great little camera

 I got a Nikon camera,
I love to take a photograph
So Mama don't take my Kodachrome away

This is Niki I Mom's first Digital purchased in 2004 for the peep's trip to
Alaska.
If you took all the girls I knew
When I was single and brought them all together for one night

Mom isn't sure whether she bought the Yashica next or
I know they'd never match my sweet imagination
The Pentax but both required film that had to be developed so she only took
pictures of special events UNTIL
Everything looks worse in black and white.
Chorus repeated.

She and Dad bought Niki I in 2005.  In January 2011 Mom
bought Niki II and I'm here to tell you she takes pictures in her sleep
She loves Niki II almost better than Ice Cream Cake
MOL
Mom still has all these cameras too.  I'm just hoping she doesn't go
crazypants on me by taking pictures with both hands.

As always, we thank you for stopping by today.
Please click on the video below if you'd like to hear
Kodachrome.

NOTE FROM MOM AS OF LAST NIGHT @8:30PM SHE COULD NOT GET READ HER COMMENTS.  WE ARE HOPING IT IS JUST A TEMPORARY BLOGGER PROBLEM.  WE HAVEN'T TRIED TO LEAVE ANY COMMENTS ON OTHER BLOGS, BUT IF YOU DON'T HEAR FROM US THAT WILL BE THE REASON.

Tuesday Tale

Now that Christmas company is gone I wanted to enjoy the peace and quiet in my sis's room but lo and behold that crazy lady, I call Mom, forgot to put Santa Claws and potential dinner Christmas mouse away.  They belonged to my human sis when she was a wee lass...so Mom puts them on her bed every Christmas.

I held a candlelight meeting with these two characters
I told them they could stay as long as they

kept a low profile and stay out of my way

potential dinner Christmas mouse decided  test the waters by interrupting my nap. He nearly became real dinner.

Santa Claws jumped into the middle of things by
putting potential dinner Christmas mouse in his place with a stern
look and a great big belly bump

Santa Claws is a jolly old soul and very easy to talk to so I decided
he could share my corner as long as he watched my back.

INTRODUCING....DRUM ROLL..

OUR NEW KITTY,

She is made of natural steel.  Mom saw her at Accipiter, a very eccentric shop in Cameron Village.  Mom bought Stella for herself for her birthday.

The peeps were rather surprised that I walked right up to Stella to give her the Madi seal of approval...

OMC HER WHISKERS ARE TOUGH AS NAILS
MOL
She has her tail in a permanent welcoming position
which means she knows I'm the Alpha cat in these parts
and she will not challenge me.
She only has 3 toes on each paw that look like roller skates.
I bet she is faster than greased lightning.
She has buns of steel and a face that only a
mother could love. She has a cute little round nose.
If her eyes are the windows to her soul,
trust me when I say, she is soul-less.  Mom is thinking about
going to a craft store to buy some green glass to glue in
those scary hollow sockets.

The good news is I found nothing at all disagreeable about her.
She has the Madi seal of approval...especially since she will be an
outdoor only kitty.

Hi Blogville,
PLEASED MY TO TELL YOU MY NEW GIG WILL BE TO GUARD THE FRONT DOOR WITH A STEEL PAW!
NOTHING WILL GET PASS ME.

The only care Stella needs is to be dusted of every so often
and sprayed with Rustoleum Crystal Clear...to keep her
steel 'furs' shiny.
Thanks for coming by to visit today.
Hugs
Madi

EASY LIKE SUNDAY #2,Steeple(like) Sunday #38,

Mom sends a GREAT BIG THANK YOU to everyone for the
Birthday wishes yesterday.  She had a wonderful day, the weather was purrfect, she and Dad were out and about a lot thus my blog visits came up short.....she'll do better today.

Happy Sunday...I think I'll chill while Mom
shares some pretty church pictures.
The original name of the church was Methodist Episcopal, South
until 1939 when it was changed to Cary Frist Methodist.
In 1968 during unification with the Evangelical United Brethren Church the name was changed to the it's final name
First United Methodist
Mom was quite smitten with this pretty brick church and all it's arched windows.
It was founded in 1871.
In 1922 the original church was enlarged to include an annex.

In 1957 a rapidly growing membership made it necessary to enlarge and renovate the sanctuary. The ceiling and floor are part of the original structure
Over the years there have been several additions and renovations to accommodate their membership which has grown to more than 4,000.  Since 1871 there have been 47 ministers.
The below picture is a steeple per se but mom calls it
Steeple-like. More arched windows and openings everywhere.
Side view
This is a very welcoming front entrance
Mom especially liked the triple arched windows over the front door
The church is fondly called 'the church in the heart of Cary'
because it is located on the main street in 'old' Cary, NC.
Front view
Pictures were taken on December 13, 2011.
