THURSDAY TAIL and TALL Tale

Once upon  a time there was a kitty

who bellowed to her mom

come quick I spy a bushy tailed
rodent eating your pansies.
THE END

I have a burning question for you to ponder
answer on Friday
If 7 trees fall in my yard, can you hear them?
We are having 7, 60 foot pine trees removed
today.  It will be a traumatic day...
but we will survive.
As you can see by this picture, they are all very
close to the house.
4 in the back yard, 2 on the side and 1 in the front

During ice storms
ice collects on the pine boughs.  It only takes 1/4"
of ice to bring down limbs....we don't want them
falling on our house.

  2. The nerve of that rodent feasting on the pansies! Cutting down trees is always nerve wracking. We hope it's uneventful.

  8. That's a lot of trees to have removed! That sounds noisy, but if the arborists are good, it will go quickly and safely. We love seeing squirrels outside, especially when they run across our window screens. That brings us running to the window!

  12. Well that is kind of sad that those trees have to go but we sure understand. It is so scary when ice gets on trees. They do come down quickly. Good luck to all of you. Hope it isn't too scary. Take care.

  13. We had a beautiful royal palm that was right next to the house. A couple years ago Mom and Dad had it taken down because they were afraid it would come down ON the house in a hurry cane. It was sad but they had to do it.

  15. I can hear the 7 falling trees :o) Oh and if thingies with bushy tails live in your 7 pines, please send them to me. We have a giant walnut tree what lives in my back yard. If we have storms my mom is on patrol all 5 minutes and looks for the tree. I have no clue what she will do if the tree comes down, butt I'm sure it will be funny :o) Be careful when the trees come down, use an umbrella, Madi.

  16. Oh My, Cover your ears, Madi, maybe put some cotton in them, it's going to be very very noisy at your house!! Sounds scary going OVER the house with a crane! Maybe since it's only 7 they will be done fast!

  17. That's a LOT of trees to take down, Madi. I would miss them especially since they are big and old and probably provide wonderful shade. I surely won't hear them fall down, but you will. Maybe get some ear plugs!

  19. I'm sure you are going to be hearing a lot of noise from all that. We cut 3 huge trees out of the hay field this past weekend. 1 of the 3 landed where planned. The hubby just laughed and said "Paul Buyun I'm not".

  21. Don't think we will be able to hear them here in Missouri but we will feel your pain. We have taken down too many trees to count in the last three years because of the drought. All Oaks. Made me cry. Definitely worth it though to not have to worry when an ice storm hit you!

  30. Silly, bushy tailed rodent, we hope you scared him away Madi.
Our mama has told us stories from when she lived in GA. During ice storms she could hear branches breaking all night long. Cutting down those trees is a good idea.

  31. We only had to have one pine tree removed and were amazed at how quickly the guys did it and then was nothing left and it was amazing. I do recall someone saying be on the lookout for termites after they pulverized the tree with all the sawdust that will be left. Madi I bet you went UTB!!!

  32. Trees are beautiful but not if they are falling on the house! Madi you make a good lookout cat!

Good luck on the tree removal. Mommy hates when we used to do that. It makes her nervous!

We bet Mr. Squirrel will hate it, too. MOL!

  35. Sad to see the trees go, but much better to be safe! A lot of evergreen trees here have had to be removed because they are all dying from some disease:( Luckily we don't have any at our home.

    Happy Thursday.
