SAXAPAHAW ROAD TRIP PHOTOS FROM TUESDAY
7/7/15

You know mom loved this red barn!!

The travelers had lunch here.  Mom loved the sign.  Evidently years ago it was just a general store now it is a very well known cafe.  This is one of the reasons they took the trip to eat here.
Pictures of their lunch to follow
The peeps have never ever heard of this brand of soft drink!!

Menu board all the food served is locally grown/raised.
Mom ordered a bison burger
I heard it was delicious...and there was none left for the poor starving kitty they left at home.  It was served with a side of home fries. The bison burger was on an English muffin with browned onions, cheese and a mayo mix.
Uncle G had a salad and pimento cheese sandwich,
Aunt K ordered a crab cake and separate salad..then she put the crab cake on her salad

Dad had a beef burger and delish potato salad
Haw River Bridge

Pub and brewery there too.  The pub only served evening meals.
But boy were they making the brews...the hops were very strong smelling.

A good time was had by all!

PSA
Me and myself are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the lovely and talented Ms. Kathy.  She will attend to my every whim 24/7, Tuesday-Thursday.

It appears I'm granting lots of leave slips lately.
The good news is we'll be back to our
regularly scheduled program bright and early

  4. Nothing left for a poor, starving, abandoned cat? So unfair........

When SHE was in Norway, all the barns were red. It was almost like.....if you're barn isn't red, immigrate.

  17. YuMMMmmmmm, we love bison burgers over here. We laughed at the pimento cheese sandwich...it reminds Ma and Daddy of when they were kids. I sure hope they bring something back for you, Miss Madi. It is only fair since you have been allowing these "travels".

    1. We love finding those places that have local foods ~ this time of year there is one in Kentucky that has fried green tomatoes and Lee gets them on a turkey burger they have a carrot slaw and Shaker lemon pie. Now we are hungry. Lee enlarged the menu and she read me everything they were serving.
