Tuesday Tale:

RECENTLY I WAS IN DREAM LAND BASKING IN MY WHITE THRONE
WHEN I WAS RUDELY AWAKENED BY THE DING DONG...I barely had a
chance to gather my thoughts when a nice Man from PSNC (Public Service of NC)
came to inspect our gas logs and fireplace.

Oh my cats he was the best service person ever. He took the top logs outside to give the a good cleaning.  We've had gas logs for 20+ years.  No one has ever done that.

I ran up the stairs lickety split just in case he decided to clean me too.

  2. What a fine man!
We have a gas fire a bit like that here (imitation coal not logs), but Gail never turns it on 'cos she says it's like burning £5 notes. We think you are lucky that gas prices are so much cheaper in your country - less that 1/4 the price of ours.

  3. We have electric heaters, but we don't pay for the electrics (our landlord does it for us). We just have to vacuum the filters every now and then to keep it working properly.

  14. That was a good idea. You wouldn't want anything to go wrong with that fireplace. We get our furnace/ac cleaned every year to keep it working well. I usually get stuck in ghostwriter's office whenever that happens.

We like to keep out of the way when repair peeps call too - that is, Elliot does, Cricket would lick everyone to death given half the chance.
