Thoroughly Poetic Pictorial Thursday

First of all a big thank you to everyone for your kind comments on my Wordless Wednesday post.
****************************

Today we join Two  SPOILED CAT
Angel Sammy and Teddy for their poetic pictorial poem.

Here is today's photo prompt
We thank Mom Pam for all the effort she puts into finding
these lovely photos for us.
Oh this is gonna be a good one!
Mom is a child of the '60's

Violet de VW Flower Child
Bright colors delight and adorn every space.
Flowers galore sprout happily on her hood.
A frontal inspection reveals a face.
It beckons and bids us all a good day.
The places she has traveled are a mystery
She speaks to my imagination
Yes indeed I'm California Dreamin'
with a flower in my hair and singin'
with the Mamas and Papas of days gone by
in my mind's eye.

Side note from Mom:
I coulda been a Flower Child....lol
A few months after I started dating my future husband,
we were both offered jobs in San Francisco. Neither of us
knew about the other's job offer until many months later.
********************************************************
We had some new dining room windows installed
on Wednesday....more about that and other projects down the road.
But to Mom's surprise I was quite interested in the process.
Mom and I sat on the couch watching Mr. F go and come and come and go.

  5. Great photos Miss Madi.....and great poem too. My Mom was a flower child and has a lot of interesting and fun memories of those days. I guess part of her heart will always be "back there". Thanks for being part of our poetry fun on Thursdays! Very exciting to have new windows and updates in the house nad I know you are snoopervising to the best of your ability!

    Hugs, Teddy

  9. I was kind of a flower child... in my heart anyway. Glad you went with the flow on the window installation. I am not much for workers in the house and we have had peeps in the house since Monday. Done for awhile I hope. I so enjoyed your poem and Violet is a great name for the V-dub Bus! Love the dragonfly!

  10. We love the VW bus and the poem! Mom and Dad had an orange VW bus before my sissy was born. They had decided they wanted a dozen kids and they were getting prepared☺

  11. That was a perfect poem for that picture. We're surprised to see you out and snoopervising the work on the windows. Whenever we have workers in the house we are sequestered to some room to keep out of their hair and to make sure we don't run out any open doors.

  13. Way to snoopervise, Madi! Guess what I discovered today?!? The guy doing our bathroom had a question and needed mom to go in there. Dad was downstairs, and Cam was in 10 Downing Street, so Mom had to take me in with her. Do you know what he has in there?!!? BOXES!!!!!! Holy cardboard-a-palooza, Mads! Why am I not allowed in there?!?!?
    Yours sincerely,

  16. Madi, we know that Mr. F. does a good job, but you've certainly kept him on his toes! Snoopervising at it's best!

  17. Does Mom know that you were just waiting for that moment for you to jump through the window and go exploring?

Sweet poem too. Our Mom was also a big Mamas and Papas fan.

  20. What a great poem, our Mama sometimes wishes she was a few years older and could have been a flower child!

  21. You could have been a flower cat! Did your mom ever drive a VW bus? It is what our mom learned to drive in...a standard VW bus that our next door neighbor owned. LOL!

  22. That's the best hippie bus I've ever seen, and I am a child of the 60's too. I bet your new windows will help with the utility bills. Good for you, Madi, for not running away from all the noise.
