Nature and Feline Friday

Wednesday, September 4th we left our friend's home for a road trip to visit:
Along the Blue Ridge Parkway we saw beautiful vistas of the Great Smoky Mountains

MST stands for Mountain to Sea Trail

We saw babbling brooks

white caps rushing
makeshift foot bridges that we did not TEST
Falls glistening in the sun this was taken at an angle
the sound of the water and the birds filled the air
There were lots of stone stairs down the to bottom

After we took some 'selfies',

we climbed back up found a picnic table  WITH A VIEW
and enjoyed a delicious picnic lunch prepared by Sally.
We had ham and turkey sandwiches on a variety of breads, chips and chocolate pound cake
and lots of WATER.  Temperature was hovering at 80.  Humidity was low and thankfully
the trail was shaded.

Happy 1st Anniversary to my Nephew KAT

Dearest Aunty HiC
It’s hard to believe it’s been a year ago today (Sept. 20) since I allowed Mom to pick me up for the first time.
She would patiently sit close by, softly singing Soft Kitty, Warm Kitty, and the Meow Mix songs. 😹
I played hard to get for several weeks, until I knew she couldn’t wait to get her hands on me!

Here some of the very first pictures the first day of what was to be my

Yum, she’s tasty! 😹

Yep, I love nose taps! 😻

I think I’m going to be very happy here. ❤️

Dearest Nephew,
Seriously!  Sept 20...WOW IT  was the first day of the best days of your NEW life that was about to begin.

  20. Ahh, these beautiful photos make mom and dad long for a trip further west before it gets too cold. They miss hiking out that way, and now that we're a little further east than we were it's more difficult for them to plan a trip. Oh well.

  23. Oh that is just beautiful! I live in the Midwest but I've got family in North and South Carolina and along the East coast, so I've driven "through" the mountains. Never really explored though, particularly since I seem to be the only one in my family who enjoys the outdoors!
